  What other tests have been run to find the cause of your low libido?  Thyroid, prolactin, hormones?  Before I would start adding to the chemical soup in my body, I would want to make sure that there was no other imbalance causing my low libido.

  I have been to the doctor for a battery of tests (several of which we paid for out of pocket as insurance declined to pay), it WAS my MD that suggested that see my GYN for hormone options of testost.

  Hasn't that been proven to be a lot of bunk?
  
  As a pp suggested, has there been medical investigation? Have you had your thyroid checked, your hormones tested for normal levels; are you on meds that may cause a low or zero libido -- oral birth control, antidepressants, other meds?Many meds have low or zero libido as a side effect.
  
  It could also be your lifestyle; maybe you have a couple of little kids you are raising, a hectic job, under stress --- this too can interfere with your libido.
  
  Maybe you and your H are in a sexual rut. Moreover, have you discussed your low libido with him? Communication is key;

  are you on birth control?? that is always a huge culprit...its something i deal with and just have to find ways around it. Its not always easy, but consult your GYN and have her look into it more. She will be able to diagnose why and hopefully remedy it for you.

  I agree that you should have everything else ruled out, thyroid, etc. BUT make sure when they test your testosterone, that they check total and I believe it is called "free" testosterone. I had my total testosterone checked several years ago and told that it was normal. My Gyn was very condescending about it , saying that, "It's all in my head," just "Have some wine and relax," etc etc. I asked about testosterone and was told that it would cause acne, hair growth, etc. I recently went to a specialist in sexual medicine....low and behold..my free testosterone basically didn't exist! I KNEW that it was hormonal and it wasnt psychological. I was put on testosterone and WOW! I felt like my prayers were answered! It TOTALLY changed my life. My husband was trying to be so patient with me, but I knew that he was getting frustrated and feeling neglected. Our sex life could not be better! The only side effect I have is oily skin- nothing else! Feel free to send me a message or email if you have ANY questions...I would be happy to help you!
