SVU
Is it just me or are they phasing Olivia out. Is she thinking of leaving too? It just seems like she has been in the background lately.

She announced when Chris Meloni left that she was going to be cutting back this season. It's her choice to be working less.
I'd be surprised if she left completely because this is really the only thing she does in terms of work. No where else is a woman of her age going to make the kind of money she makes now.
I thought someone posted here that she was being cut back, and she'll actually stop being a detective but still be on the show.
Surprisingly, I actually really enjoy the two new detectives.
Prior to Chris Meloni leaving, she had signed her new one-year contract, which would have her in the show full time for the first half of the season and then cutting back her hours for the second half. The plan was for her character to get a promotion for the second half of the season. When Meloni left, that plan changed. She will now remain a detective and, as was always planned, will be in every episode.
When Meloni left, they decided to bring in Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish to play two new detectives. There is also a new executive producer this year, which explains why the show seems different. He seems to be doing more of an ensemble. Mariska Hargitay has not announced what her plans are for next year, except to say that she is keeping an open mind about the future. My opinion is that she will probably leave because she adopted two babies in the last year, and I could see her leaving the show to concentrate on her family.
I am a crazy obsessed SVU fan, which is why I know all this.
