need some wine suggestions....

I want to get my mom and her boyfriend two bottles of wine as part of their Christmas present this year.  I am not a wine expert AT ALL and I want to get them something nice.  Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.  Probably one white and one red...and something I can find at my local liquor store.  Any suggestions??  Thanks ladies!

    Duckhorn Vineyards has some  nice selections.  My all time favorite is Ferrari Carano Siena Malbec is my favorite red.  Around $35 a bottle.  Christian Salmon Sancerre is a good white wine - Sauvignon Blanc.  Both are available at Corridor in Laurel.  They can also provide great recommendations.

    where do you live, I would rather steer you in a direction of a liquor store that has a good staff that can help you!

    If you are anywhere near the city, I would recommend you visit V-NO in Fell's Point... the owners Mark and Kristina are awesome... I have often gone in and told them what I was eating or who I was buying for and they take the time to help you choose the best wine. And they have wines at all price points. Sometimes I have just chosen because it has a cute label, because they seriously do not carry a bad wine.

    Are you ever in White Marsh, the Honeygo Village liquor store has really impressed me with their selection and people there to help you!
