I know we've discussed this before, but maybe not in the same context.
Right now, he's on a schedule that's worked for the past 4 months. He gets solids (stage 2 or some 3 purees with rice) at 8, noon, and 5:30 for his "meals." He also gets 25-27 oz of forumula a day.
He's just now getting teeth. He has 2 on the bottom and none on the top. I've given him some table foods that are mashed up, but if he gets anything with "clumps" he gags, sometimes until he pukes. I mean, the pieces I'm giving him are TINY... I gave him some mashed up banana pieces today and he gagged.
It's like he's not interested in table food.
Now that he's getting closer to 1 year, I'm starting to think about how to get him off of the bottle. I know he's supposed to get whole milk until he's 2, but how much a day?
I told the ladies at his school that they are welcome to try any table foods that they give the older ones in the room, and they are going to start.
Maybe it'sjust too early still, but I'm just curious what you did at which ages.
As his intake of table foods increases, do I cut his formula back?
Or just keep him on the same amount of formula, but switch it to whole milk once he's 1?
Re: BWLO: Transitioning off the bottle
Jack had the same texture issues with solids. He wanted them, but anything that had even the smallest chunk in it, he would gag. Eventually he got over it.
We started giving Jack some whole cow's milk right before a year, just to see if he would drink it, and if it negatively affected him in any way. He was fine with it, so just after a year we switched him to 100% cow's milk all day. He didn't even notice.
Also, as Jack ate more solids, we did cut back on his breastmilk, but that was way closer to a year. I think the amount of solids/formula you are giving Landon is good. At 2 years old, Jack drinks 3 milk cups, 1 juice cup, and however much water he wants during the day, plus 3 meals a day and snacks whenever he is hungry. I think that if you keep Landon on the schedule he is on, when he starts replacing formula with whole milk, he will naturally start to want more snacks/solids to fill him up.
We didn't start solids with the twins until 6 months and by 9 months they were on just table foods, no more purees. Lily gagged a lot more than Hannah did, but I just kept offering it to them and eventually they were fine. We kept the amount of formula the same. At 9 months we were down to just 3 bottles as we replaced the 3pm bottle with a snack of yogurt and fruit. So from 9-12 months they had 7oz bottles at 7am, noon, and 5:30pm.
I would say just keep offering him the food and he'll figure it out.

I can't help with the milk issue because N was BF and I had no idea how much he was taking in, and now he's weaned but still won't drink any other kind of milk.
As far as the food, I agree with the other ladies about keep offering. N gagged all.the.time. I swore he would never learn how to eat, lol. It can be scary to see them gagging like that but if you read about BLW at all, it says they aren't choking that's just their way of learning to eat, etc. GL!
Our crazy, wonderful life
Jane moved from formula to milk at 1 - but still used a bottle. She had like 20 oz or so a day. Peds definitely look at less milk than formula (at least mine does).
At 17 mos when she just decided she was ready for a cup, her milk went waaaaay down. Like maybe 10 oz? She'll happily chug milk from a bottle, but not a cup.
We just follow her lead and offer it a lot and make sure she gets cheese and yogurt each day.
ETA: I will add that as her milk goes down, her food goes way up. She eats so much more now that she's not taking a bottle.
We just started slowly cutting back Tessa's formula in each bottle. We put in about 6 oz of formula/water mix and then fill the rest with milk. We will keep dropping the amount of formula and adding more milk each time until she is completely on milk. This method worked well with Kellen. The only issue I am having with her is that she does not like any kind of sippy cup really. But, I think we may have made a breakthrough today because she finally figured out how to drink from a straw. So, hopefully that means I can start cutting out the bottle.
Tessa also has refused to eat any purees since she was about 10 months. She is strictly on table foods now. She gets a bottle first thing when she wakes up, eats breakfast, then she gets a bottle before nap, eats lunch when she wakes up, then we eat dinner around 7, then she gets a bottle at 9 right before bed. She has some snacks like goldfish and puffs in between there when she is hungry.
Kellen drinks 3 cups of milk a day still and he is 2 1/2. He gets one every morning that I put Carnation breakfast powder in since he is a really picky eater so he can still get all of the nutrients and such that he is lacking. He also gets a cup before naptime and before dinner. He drinks water any time he is thirsty, which is quite often. We have had struggles with him finding food that he will eat, but we keep offering it and if he doesn't eat we don't force him. Our pedi just said to keep giving him whole milk and to give him the Carnation powder in the morning since he isn't eating as much any other time.
