Can I take a moment to AW how my afternoon has been crappy.
I know that in the grander scheme of life's troubles these can be trumped, but I'm still sad.
One of our parakeets died. It's the one we've had for over five years. He was really tame and sat on my shoulder and climbed in my hair and had the funniest personality. H dug a hole and we buried him in the back yard.
And a minute ago MIL called to say that FIL was in the ER. He had surgery a little over a week ago to remove some of the pins they'd put in his leg back in May when he was hit by a deer while riding his motorcycle. They think he has an infection in his bone now.
Bah. I need chocolate, or tequila, or something.

Aww, I'm sorry about your bird. Losing a pet is always really hard.
I hope your FIL is okay. A bone infection sounds scary. i didn't even know that was possible.
aww, I'm sorry. I didn't know you guys had parakeets! Do you have others? I'm fascinated by birds.

Aw, I'm sorry Pirate. I know losing a pet is always hard.
And I really hope there is nothing too serious and something the can take care of,T&P lady!
We have one other. The one we still have was a stray that FIL found on a job site, we've had him a little over a year. We can tell he misses his friend.
They've got way more love and personality than you'd think could be packed into that small of a creature.

It's always really hard to lose pets; I completely understand.
