Margie...or someone that can help...

I"m not good with the girlie.  Most of you have met me.  You know I'm quite the Tom-boy and have no sense of makeup and hair stuff.

My niece has given me what she wants for Christmas.  I got the make up part figured out.  I'm getting her a gift card to Sephora, cause I'm just that awesome of an Auntie.  LOL

But she has also asked for a "large hair curler".  Does she mean a curling iron?  I have no clue.  Any help, guidance in this would be great.  Especially recommendations of what to get and where to find it.

Thanks!

Re: Margie...or someone that can help...

  • I am assuming like Taylor Swift curls for large curler.  You can check out Target.  Or give her a Target gift card for curler.

Or Hot Rollers set?  I love them because of ease.

  • You raaaaaaaaang??

I would ask her what she means, unless you want to run the risk of buying the wrong thing. If I HAD to guess, I would think she means a curling iron, or a curling wand (which is basically a curling iron without the clip). If she has never had one I would go not go the wand route as they can be tricky for a novice...

But anyway, the following info will help immensely:

How long is her hair? Is it color treated? Thin? Frizzy?

What is her desired end result? Curls or waves?

ETA Hot rollers are awesome too. Easy to use once you learn a good pattern and they free your hands up for makeup application.

  • i assume she means a curling iron or wand. they come in various different dimensions (1in. 1.5in 2 in). sometimes hot rollers dont hold a curl, depending on hair type.

im no help with brands, ect. i use my cheap as target iron because im more of a flat iron girl. good luck!

  • My niece is 16.  (will be in FEb. at least).  She has long hair like her Auntie.  It's lighter than my hair, but sadly, she has inherited her Auntie's thin, do nothing hair.

SHE IS OBSSESSED with Taylor Swift...so I'm thinking that's why she asked for the stuff she asked for.

I should probably ask her mother.

Ya know it used to be so much easier when she wanted Barbie.  I could do the Barbie thing easily. L OL

Okay, Tee, when you have more info, let us know. We'll have great recommendations for you.

  • Margie...I may do even better and her in person at Forever 21.  She apparently LOVES that store.  I haven't told her that I know someone who works there.  LOL
