Did everyone have a good weekend?
What did you do?
Re: Weekend Recap
I had a really fun weekend.
Yesterday was the best day by far. We went to an Ice Show near our house with my MIL and then I got to see my Grandma last night who I hardly ever get to see.
Saturday I just did some Christmas shopping and worked that's about all.
My weekend was pretty good! I wasn't feeling great on Friday, so I didn't go work out like I was supposed to. Oh well! Saturday, I went to my aunt's baby shower which was pretty fun. I love those kind of things! Then, I stayed overnight at my parent's house since it was right by the shower. Yesterday, I hit the grocery store, did some cleaning and cooking - pretty low key!
I really really really need to get on the Christmas bandwagon. I feel so behind!
I had a very busy weekend! Plus I was sick the whole time (I'm still not even close to 100%, but I feel a lot better than I did last week!)
Friday I took of work and my mom and I did some xmas shopping (in reality, Mom shopped, I just walked around with her. Then I got dinner with DH and went to bed early.
Saturday I was brave and invited some of the neighbor kids over to decorate sugar cookies. They were ages 3, 4, 8, 8 and 10. It actually worked out really well and everyone had a great time! After I got that cleaned up I wrapped a few presents and had friends over for a holiday gift exchange. It was a great time.
Sunday I went to breakfast/lunch with DH, my little brother and a friend and then relaxed at home for the afternoon.

I cleaned a lot. Then I decided I just had to have new window treatments before Christmas and went shopping for some. Bought a few different curtain panels and rods to try out.
We also went to the fifth cirlce of hell, also known as 12 Oaks on a weekend during Christmas shopping season. It actually wasn't that bad, but I hate the crowds.
I was just going to post and say 'nothing too fun here- just hanging out and shopping'. Then I remembered that we did have fun.
We went out Saturday to cut our tree down (love the place we went to!). We ended up cutting two down. One 8' tree for the living room and a 3' tree for the kids playroom. They had a blast decorating both trees. We need to go get a few more ornaments for their tree, but it looks so cute in the window.
I tried to finish up my shopping yesterday, but my husband added all these errands that needed to get done so I spent most of my time doing those.
I stopped at Best Buy to talk to someone about e-readers to try to pick one out for my husband to get me (he's doing his shopping this week while he's out of town). I left with less confidence in which one I wanted than ever. The girl there sucked at explaining them to me, kept telling me she loved amazon, so she loves the kindle and that's what everyone should get. But she also told me opposite things that I've heard before about library stuff and whatever. Blah. I sent my husband with a list of things I want in an e-reader and I'm making him choose.

Losing it...Without Losing it
Friday I went to spin class right after work, grabbed dinner on the way home and just relaxed watching TV with DH. I got home and he had put my outside Christmas lights up so I can stop complaining about that now!
Saturday- I took my nephews shopping (12 and 14 years old) because they wanted to buy Christmas gifts for their parents. Boys are too funny, they picked what they wanted and they were done, no browsing around, didn't want to look at anything else. We went to Barnes & Noble so I could play with the Nook Tablet to see if I wanted it for sure and DH called and told me to just buy it while I was there unless I thought that was lame and wanted him to get it and give it to me on my actual birthday (which isn't until next week). I ended up buying it so I went home and played with it for the afternoon while my nephews played video games with DH. We went to dinner and to the Christmas parade in Milan and then back to my sister's house for dessert.
Sunday- Church, cleaning and laundry, I scrubbed my floors and walls in the kitchen and bathroom, grocery shopped, made dinner and relaxed watching TV and playing with my Nook.
This sounds like so much fun!
Friday: Ran errands and caught up with this season of Dexter with DH.
Saturday: I went to my friend's bf's mom's craft show (I totally believe in 6 degrees of separation!) which was cute but nothing over-the-top spectacular. Then I went to my sister's bf's to watch the MSU game... omg...
Sunday: I helped my mom's friend's mom (so, an elderly lady) put up her indoor Christmas decorations. It took 4 hours. It wasn't fun. She wasn't appreciative. I'm glad I didn't commit to taking them down for her.
Overall, it wasn't that great but I'm thankful for the opportunities I've been given.
Friday we went to run a few errands, and we did the 96.3 Stuff a Bus in Canton. DD was thrilled, she loves buses, so it was cool for her to go inside one. We did it last year as well. We had a few items in the car to drop off & I'm glad we saw it in the parking lot.
Sat-DD & I did Christmas caroling at Botsford Commons Rehab Center in Farmington Hills. It was with a group from church that we did it with. One of the many things our church is doing to give back & help the community.
Also took the kids to see Santa in downtown Plymouth. DS was not happy to be in a room w/him, poor guy!
Sun-I did church alone w/DH was sick & DD got pink eye.
Mine was full of activity. But I fell while taking Loki on a walk and re-sprained my right ankle. It was so painful that I almost passed out twice. Luckily, DH was with us and he caught me before I could completely wipe out and held me up so I wouldn't pass out. He even carried me once we got back to our street. Then a neighbor saw us and she gave me a ride home while DH ran the rest of the way with Loki.
Other than that, got to see my parents and had dinner at Slows BBQ
Had a dog show in Lansing over the weekend. Just did ok, but it was so rejuvenating on a personal/soul-level to go do what I love for the weekend.
FI and I put up the Christmas tree and in-house decorations last night when we got home. It's nice to have them up and I kinda feel more in the Christmas spirit. Of course, this also reminded me that I have half of our shopping to finish. Better get on that...
I had a good weekend! Friday was a relaxing evening with DH & DS. we watched Christmas Vacation.
Saturday DS spent the day shopping with my mom, DH went hunting and I met my dad for a 12.5 mile trail run. I also headed out to grocery shop and Christmas shop.
Sunday I was up early, went to the gym, cleaned the bathroom, did the laundry, cleaned my bedroom, made dinner and proceeded to fall asleep by 9pm.

I'm trying to remember what happened Friday and I seriously don't remember what I even did. Now that's sad.
On Saturday DH celebrated our anniversary a bit early and went to see The Polar Express at the IMAX followed by dinner.
On Sunday we met with the sales manager at the new home site to get some more things squared away. Hopefully we'll have the purchase agreement all squared away by the beginning of next week.
Wow you are the best neighbor EVER!
Hahah, Thanks! That's what the kids said too! I bake a lot off cookies for gifts for the holidays and I didn't want to have to decorate 12-15 dozen sugar cookies all by myself and I figured they would love it. I was worried that it would turn into a frosting and sprinkles fight, but they did great! I hopped them up on sugar, gave them cookies and sent them back home to their parents!!!
