XP: Ring "butterfly" or spring inserts?

This is also posted on the F&B board:

My ring finger size changes drastically in the winter and summer. My engagement ring and wedding band tend to either cut off the circulation in my hand or fly right off my hand. I went to the jeweler yesterday and he suggested putting in a "butterfly" insert that would help the ring adjust size either smaller or bigger without having to physically resize it.

Has anyone done this? Can you see the insert when you are wearing the ring? Pictures would be helpful of at all possible.

Thanks!

  • I had that on my e-ring before I got my wedding band.

I don't have a pic, but you can't see it when the ring is on. It basically "clips" onto the bottom radius of the ring, so it's on the underside of your finger.

I wasn't a fan because I felt like it pinched my finger, but it was only temporary for me.

  • Awesome! I looked but couldn't find a picture of this.

I seriously have almost lost my ring on several occasions during the winter and then during the summer months, my finger will swell around the fold of the ring. It actually looks pretty scary. At this point, I don't care how it fits, as long as it fits. I love my rings and just want to be able to wear them. My knuckle currently looks like it's broken from having to force it on and off during the warmer months. I just didn't want it to ruin the look of the ring.
