Bad job news :(
The restoration of funding for my job got vetoed today. The override vote is Wednesday, but I'm very nervous. My part of the budget passed 12-7, but 13 are needed for an override.
I still haven't even been able to figure out our local government. According to a newspaper reporter my H has been in contact with, if the county board doesn't override the veto, then the executive's original proposal takes affect. I don't get that - I would think a new budget would have to pass the board, but apparently not. So if his proposal goes into effect, I would make a whopping $10.30 per hour. That's so not what I bargained for when I went to law school.
