What a Weekend! aka, Happy Monday!

So, it's 10 o'clock and I'm just getting in to work now.  I had to stay home and sleep a few extra hours this morning because I ended up at the ER last night.

Baby is fine, but mom was having a really hard time breathing.  I went to the walk-in clinic yesterday and the doc was surprised that I didn't have asthma with how much I was weezing.  She prescribed 2 puffers and said if I didn't get any better or if it got worse to go to the ER.  Well, by the time I was going to bed, I could barely breathe again, so off to the ER we went.  3 hours and LOTS of broncodilators later, we were on our way home, with no real diagnosis but 2 MORE puffers.  I'll be following up with my GP this week.  Phew.  I'm feeling better today, but still not normal.  Exertion (like, y'know walking, taking the stairs) still makes it worse, but hopefully things will be fine in a few days once the steroids can do their thing.

Oh, and we're buying a car.  Saturday we looked at and worked out the numbers for a 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L.  This thing is beautiful.  Fully loaded, leather seats, sun roof, roof rack, etc etc.  It's a touch more than we'd hoped to spend, but it's worth it and definitely still affordable.  It had just come into the dealership the night before, so they need it for a few more days, then it's ours!

What did everyone else do this weekend?

  • Raynes I hope you get better, and yeah for new cars!

This weekend was fun. I did some Christmas shopping, ran and then ruined it all by going out to this amazing burger place and making sugar cookies. My MIL's sugar cookie recipe is the best. Yum.

  • Yikes!  That sounds pretty scary.  Glad to hear baby is fine and I hope you're feeling better soon.

My weekend was pretty busy.  I worked both Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday we had our work Christmas party and I had a friend from out of town staying with us.  We ended up staying pretty late and I didn't get to bed until midnight which sucks when you have to be up at 6am for work.  I made up for it slept 11 hours last night.

The work party was pretty interesting.  Everyone found out about the pregnancy this week and I'm actually starting to show so MANY people were just walking up and touching my belly.  I am NOT a touchy feely person so this is freaking me out.  Plus, I'm not adorably pregnant yet (although that's how they describe me =)) I still just feel kinda thick and fat so having someone touch that is just awkward, YKWIM?

I'm off today and tomorrow for working the weekend and i'm just heading out to the gym for a run.  Then I need to go buy some bras.  My front clasp bra has just snapped open twice this week while I was just standing there Embarrassed

  • raynes, I hope you feel better soon!

Morning ladies! I had a good weekend. We went out on Friday night to celebrate my birthday. We went to a local sports bar/restaurant that had live music. Apparently everyone in our group was in a drinking mood because there weren't many sober people among us. I partied like I was turning 21, not 31. My mom came into town and went out with us too. As far as I know everyone had a blast.

Unfortunately the rest of my weekend was a bit of a waste. I spent Saturday recovering and still didn't feel quite normal on Sunday. I did manage to do some housework yesterday and a lot of laundry. We also put up our Christmas tree and decorations.

  • Raynes - How scary. Glad to hear the baby is Okay, and hope that you are feeling better soon.

Rx - Belly touching was horrible.  I quickly learned to say no. Unless they asked, and I knew them well, there was no touching.  My hands went up pretty quickly when I saw someone going for it.

My weekend was fill with lots of nose wiping, holding the boys, and playing with toys. It was nice to not leave the house all weekend, but sucked seeing the boys sick.  DH has it now, and I am just praying I don't get it back.  Ugh I hate colds.

I am hoping to either put up 1/2 of tree this week, or the whole tree but only 1/2 decorated this week, but we will see how motivated I am.

    Have a great day ladies.

  • Good Morning!

THis weekend was nice we went and looked at a house last week we are in love with so we took my mom to see it this weekend. We have decided to move foward and put in an offer. DH is off today so he is gone to take a good bit of our paperwork up to the bank.

We tried the whole santa thing again on sautrday night. Preston still wasn't having it, but Jordan got to tell santa what he wanted for christmas.

Today is a busy busy day today at work so I probably won't be around much.

  • Raynes, how scary.  I'm glad you are feeling a bit better today, and hope you are back to normal soon!

My weekend was pretty boring.  Friday, we went to B's work holiday party.  It was mostly a lot of investment folks standing around talking about investments.  Meh.  Saturday, we did a major run to Toys R Us for Hanukkah presents, followed by a few other errands.  Sunday, I worked in the morning, and then we went to SIL's to celebrate Hanukkah because FIL was in town.  All the kids were excited about their presents, and it was actually much less drama than I thought it would be.

  • @ raynes - Yikes!  I hope the meds kick in soon and you are feeling better.  You're going to love the CR-V.  I have one (much older) and it has never given me a single issue.

I was super late this morning.  My alarm went off at 6:30 and I thought I hit snooze, but must have hit off.  I woke up again at 9:00.  Ooops.

This weekend Christmas cards went out, SS gift got packed for mailing tomorrow, I did a 5K and didn't die, I got half of my gift for the Salvation Army, made a Snickers cake, grocery shopped, had a ridiculously good hot cocoa, went to church and did about 9 million loads of laundry.

  • Good morning ladies. Nesting from my phone again so please forgive any spacing issues. We've had a crazy couple of Weeks traveling. G man has seen a lot of places and hotels. He has been such a trooper! We are getting close to STTN, this weekend he slept 6-7 hours straight but last night was up every 3 again. It felt great to get those few nights of extra sleep though. He now weighs over 14 pounds. I wish I could post an updated picture from my phone...DH has been working a ton and always has the computer so I haven't been able to change my siggy.

  • Raynes, I'm glad you're feeling better today! I hope your GP has some answers for you.

Beth, the belly touching would drive me insane!

The weekend was a good one. I did some shopping, hit the gym twice, did some writing and editing, and managed to get a few chores out of the way. Nothing too exciting, already looking forward to the next one!

Hope everyone has a great day.

  • Raynes - Hope you're feeling better and can figure out what is going on.

We had a good weekend. Friday night we took my little brother and SIL to dinner at the top of the Space Needle, then we wen't back to their hotel and shut down the hotel bar. Surprisingly I must have paced myself good because, I didn't hurt on Saturday.

Rest of the weekend was laid back, I did laundry and sorted through some house stuff and Aaron packed for his trip this week.

  • raynes - do you currently have 4 inhalers to use?  I know you have a SIL (I believe?) who is a pharmacist, but are you using all 4 or did any of the new inhalers replace one from yesterday?  I have a hard time thinking of any scenarios that would warrant 4 different inhalers so that makes me worry you have some duplication going on.  If you want, you can PM me what they are and the directions (or check with SIL).  I just worry that if you are on all 4 that one doctor didn't know exactly what the other gave you.  Gotta make sure you stay safe!

re: belly touching.  It was a pretty busy party with about 80 people there and I would be talking to someone and then someone else would come up and blindside me and walk up and touch my belly so I didn't even have time to react!  Plus, everyone was drinking so that didn't help matters.  I joked that I was going to get like a police spike belt to deploy at the press of a button to put across my belly so that people would be detered.

2 of them are duplicates (ventolin), one is a steroid (I forget the name but it's orange) and the other is another "rescue" type to be used only in dire circumstances when the ventolin doesn't cut it (green cap, avo-something).

I made sure to bring the original 2 with me when I went in, and made sure to get directions on what I should be doing (continue as originally prescribed with the blue and orange, but ok to take blue more if needed, green super rescue only if a few hits of the ventolin don't work).

I have to say, ventolin is currently my BFF.  The relief that one brings is amazing.

Re: belly touching.  I had a bunch of that with our friends this weekend as we were at a party and told everyone what we're having.  I was more ok with it than I thought, but then again, they're all pretty good friends.

  • Whew, about the inhalers.  I figured you were a smart girl and would have taken them with you to the ER but I still worry!

So, yeah, the orange one would be Flovent (fluticasone).  Flovent and Ventolin makes sense.  I'm guessing the 3rd one is Atrovent (ipratropium)?  It's considered an anticholingeric and is used in asthma but Ventolin is prefered first line.

You're better than me, I probably wouldn't even have gone in to work today.

  • Yeah, Flovent and Atrovent, that's the ones!  I felt so funny leaving the hospital with by big bag of goodies.  Puffers and aerochambers oh-my!

Also, I can't lie, I'm reallly really unproductive today.  I'm so tired.  I'm getting nothing done.

  • Good afternoon ladies! We had quite the busy weekend starting on Friday. DH took me out to dinner to a great restaurant on Friday night while SIL watched LO. The food was delicious and it was nice to have a date night.

Saturday was so busy it drove me crazy. We woke up early to clean for the party that night, went to the market, went shopping for our Christmas tree, went to a baby shower, then got home and got ready for my birthday party. Needless to say I was so exhausted but I still enjoyed it.

Yesterday was a little more low key. I did some laundry, went to yet another baby shower, and then cleaned up from the day before. We started decorating our tree only to realize we didn't have enough hooks to hang the ornaments. I'll be doing some more decorating tonight once I get home.

Last night we were up from 1 to 4 am again. LO is still teething and that one stubborn top tooth has not come in. So yet again, I am exhausted today, and both DH and I were late to work. I hope it comes in soon so we can all get some sleep. Tonight DH has class so I'll probably have dinner at my parents house before heading to WW and Target to pick up a few things.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

  • Evening!

Today was an in-service day....so I was busy in meetings all day.  I did get a bunch planned (through mid-February!) and we finished rewriting the LA curriculum for the middle school, so those are two big things checked off my to do list!

Then I went and got my haircut, then went for a pedicure with a couple of friends from work.  Today was one of my friend's last day before being out for maternity leave and a C-section on Wednesday, so this was how she wanted to celebrate.  I got sparkly red for Christmas, quite festive!  The downside, though, is that I didn't get out until the post office was closed...so I promise I will ship out my SS gift tomorrow!
