good monday morning!

hello nesties! i have a horrendously packed week this week. it's good that i got to sleep in late yesterday, *and* take a nap. so c'mon week. BRING IT ON!

yesterday when i was in the parking lot of the grocery store i felt a new sensation i had never felt in my life.....it stopped me in my tracks because it was SOOO painful. i wasn't sure what it was. i got to the car and i sat there thinking about what had happened when the baby decided to do some shifting, and i realized what i had felt was one of those "painful kicks" that keeps KTFU moms up at night. before, everything was cute, and non-sleep depriving, but if i get more of these (i got about 4 more on the drive home), i will have many restless nights ahead. oy.

have a great week everyone!

Re: good monday morning!

  • Good morning! Finals start today at the college so the students are very focused (and stressed out). My colleague called in sick so I am reference librarian on duty this morning. I have quite a few meetings this week so I think the week will go quickly.

We had a good weekend. We helped my parents get their tree Saturday and I did a lot of baking over the weekend. I have so many Christmas cookies that I want to make and I got a good start on them.

    Have a good day ladies!

  • we also have a packed week - H has a bunch of Seattle area residency interviews and SOs are invited to the dinners.  And on top of that two friends that I've been trying to hang out with both had nights available this week, so the only night I'll be home to make dinner is Thursday :P
  • Good Monday morning everyone!

This weekend was nice, overall.  On Saturday we hosted a welcome home party for two friends of ours who had moved to NYC for three months and were now back home, so that was fun.  Yesterday we were really lazy because we were kind of tired out from Saturday, so we just watched football and read books and then found a Chinese food restaurant to try.

This week is short for me so I have a lot to get done before then!  On Thursday DH and I fly to NYC as he's giving a talk at CNBC on Friday.  We're staying in NYC for the weekend because I wanted to attend the UW / Duke basketball game (UW will probably get slaughtered but oh well) and then we are going to SNL again.  I'm kind of disappointed because I do not know the musical guest at all (Robyn).  But, I am excited to see NYC all gorgeous at Christmas and I love watching DH speak so it will be fun to see him give his CNBC talk and tour the studios and what not.  But, that means I have to do lots of laundry today and tomorrow so that I can start packing.  Today all I have on my schedule is lunch, so that will be nice because it will give me a chunk of time to get errands done.

Hope you all have a lovely day/week!

  • Kimberly - that sounds fun!

We had dinner at the Space Needle with my little brother and his wife on Friday, it was a lot of fun. We ordered the 440z steak special to share and  it was amazing. And I had leftovers! After dinner we went back to their hotel and drank until last call. Ugh, I'm too old for that.

Rest of the weekend was laid back and uneventful, DH has to travel for work this week so, we hung out and didn't do a whole lot.

  • Happy Monday! I am stuck outside at a fire drill right now, it is a lil chilly! This weekend was really productive. We decorated our house and painted our bedroom and bathroom. I am excited to make them over! Now we just need to replace the bed I broke =) and hang some pictures.

  • (Maybe) Happy Monday.

My brother was up in Seattle again with his puppy and the puppy is just so freaking adorable. He follows me around the house and doesn't always listen to my brother when he sees me. I think it's cute. XD

I caught the cold my husband had a month ago, but I didn't catch it from him? I caught it from a friend who caught it from his nephew, which is where my husband caught it from in the first place. Kids really complicate the whole sick telephone process.

We're headed to California this weekend for a wedding and I'm looking forward to non-cold weather.

  • Kimberly:  Soooo jealous you get to watch the Huskies play in MSG!  They will probably lose to Duke, especially considering how they play on the road, but it should still be a great experience.

The Huskies are playing in the Alamo Bowl (which has been predicted for several weeks, so no surprise).  I'm still bitter that my time-off request got denied and I won't be able to travel to watch them Crying

This weekend I watched Breaking Dawn with a group of friends, and we got fairly smashed at Cinebarre.  The next day I went to watch A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas with DH, and that movie is SO hilarious and it got me into the "Christmas Spirit" finally.

  • I'm waiting at the dentist right now. Hoping for no cavities. This weekend I went Christmas shopping with mom and sister. Saturday we didn't do anything but get in a work out.

Today is my last day before H goes back to work. I am really going to miss his help and company.

mgoss, I was initially stoked for this game this weekend but now I'm kind of meh - I expect them to lose, and Duke fans are effing obnoxious so we'll see how it goes.

Also, I am sorry about your boss denying your time-off request!  Which is odd, because usually during the week between Christmas and New Year's I feel like most workplaces are super dead.  I hope we can beat Baylor... they looked really good when I saw them play against Texas (I think it was Texas).

  • Happy Monday!

Jennlin -- Sorry to hear you're getting the painful kicks. :( I've gotten a couple of those, and they suck. Mostly what the LO does to discomfit me is kicking me in the diaphragm when I'm breathing, or try to stretch out to his/her full length, lol, which is SO not happening space-wise.

DH got to feel a something of the latter last night when we were trying to sleep; he had his hand on my belly while LO was dancing up a storm and stretching out and was like, "...How the hell do you sleep through this?" LOL

For today, I got to hit up the car dealership again today to have 'em install the alarm and turn the headlight-off-after-car-is-powered-off timer down to zero and install door edge guards.

Well, they didn't have the door edge guards in stock (hello? couldn't they've told me that before setting me up with an appointment?), the headlights still don't turn off when the car does (despite them saying they did this!), and the little blinkenlight for the alarm doesn't blink the way it's supposed to.

I'm a little annoyed. But since I have to go back in a couple of days for the door edge guards ANYway, I'll get them to actually fix the other two things, too. Just, ugh, seriously?

    Anyway, I am whiny today.

  • Good afternoon! Weekend was relaxing. Got our tree up on Friday, I love it. Did a bunch of laundry.

I came into work and noticed that we will be open for another hour tonight. Blech...next week we will be open 12 hours and then the week after will be 14. Stupid mall.

Tomorrow I have an out patient surgery so I have the day off. Then back to the normal schedule. Well, normal for the holiday hours anyway. : p

    Have a good day everyone!
