Does your company have a Christmas party or do anything special for the holidays? We do something from about noon to 5 at a local hotel during the day. Money is kind of tight so the company isn't paying for anything but our VPs get food catered, bring some Wiis, and set up poker tables and hire people to run them and we get to go home early. It works for me. We also have a buffet breakfast at a pub next door on a separate day.
Does your workplace decorate or do you decorate your personal space? Someone strings lights up and down our building and there's a tree in the lobby. I think we have a wreath up in our suite and I decorate my own space with garland and a Santa Claus near my nametag.
Do you get a gift from your company or from your boss? If so, what type of gift do they typically give? Last year he got me a bracelet and a candle.
Do you buy your boss a gift? If so, what are you giving this year? I think that's the expectation but I honestly have never done it before... I guess I need to think of some ideas.
Are you taking any time off outside of a day for Christmas and a day for New Years (if you're even taking those)? I usually take the week off between Christmas and New Years. It's our one staycation of the year and I look forward to it.

We have having a company bowling party. We did this last year and everybody had a blast so we decided to do it again this year.

We decorate the office and outside around the entry door.

We usually get a cash bonus.

We are only opened for a couple of hours in the morning on christmas eve and are closed on christmas day and the day after. Its the same for New years as well.
Does your company have a Christmas party or do anything special for the holidays? My department does a lunch a Ruths Chris Steakhouse. It's this Wed. The company as a whole does a catered lunch for everyone. It was last Fri.

DH and I usually take the last week of the year off to hang out before his busy season starts, but he is already swamped. Plus I'm trying to save my pto to extend my maternity leave some day.

Does your workplace decorate or do you decorate your personal space? The doctor that works has bought some decorations. She did the same for Thanksgiving. It is really nice and I'm glad she does/is able to.
Do you get a gift from your company or from your boss? If so, what type of gift do they typically give? No and no. Our larger organization has a 'raffle' during our all staff meeting in December. It's really nothing special. But given that I work for the state, it's nice they try.
Do you buy your boss a gift? If so, what are you giving this year? Typically I will do something small for everyone in the office, like a baked treat or something. This year I bought everyone a 1pt poinsettia on Black Friday at Lowe's for 98 cents. It was awesome and everyone loves them.
Are you taking any time off outside of a day for Christmas and a day for New Years (if you're even taking those)? We get 12/23, 12/26, 12/27 and 1/2 as State holidays - a definite perk! I'm adding 12/28, 12/29 and 12/30 since we're traveling to see my family in Massachusetts.

I'm a fed. In our division, we all contribute money for a party. It's usually a pretty nice catered lunch. We have a very funny white elephant exchange.

We're in a building with other tenants. The building owner decorates and some individuals have decorated their space, but my particular floor - no.

Having used up all of my leave for my maternity leave - just taking the federal holidays and flip flopping my flex day so that I'll only work Tuesday through Thursday the week after Xmas, when our daycare is closed.
Does your company have a Christmas party or do anything special for the holidays? No. The first two years the attorneys took me out to lunch, but it was just really awkward, so that stopped.
Does your workplace decorate or do you decorate your personal space? One attorney gets a wreathe for the back wall and a poinsetta for one table. That's it other that putting out the cards we receive.
Do you get a gift from your company or from your boss? If so, what type of gift do they typically give? I usually get a bonus check. If I don't go late, I will be on leave during Christmas, and won't get one this year.
Do you buy your boss a gift? If so, what are you giving this year? I did the first couple years. The first year I got them all jars and filled them with candy. The next year I got baskets and filled them with foods to their taste (the tea drinker, the coffee drinker, the cocoa drinker). The last year I did anything was a old time Red Sox print for the back office.

Our company is ginormous, but apparently used to do a big party years ago (when times were better, lol) Our dept does a dinner/yankee swap.

They put poinsettias through the main halls. I put up a string of snowflakes last year, but not bothering this year.

I'm trying to help DH figure something out for him to do for his employees since he's a manager now.
My answers are based on when I did work...Christmas was nice there!
Does your company have a Christmas party or do anything special for the holidays? Yes. They reserved a section of Dave & Busters, had a buffet, drinks, and gave everyone (plus their spouse) a $20 game card.
Does your workplace decorate or do you decorate your personal space? Yes, the office was decorated, and we were all gifted a poinsettia for our individual workspace.
Do you get a gift from your company or from your boss? If so, what type of gift do they typically give? From the company--the party and game card at D&B. My immediate boss, no. A woman who I worked with a lot, but wasn't technically my boss, usually gave giftcards to a restaurant.

Yep. Office holiday party is at my boss's gorgeous house every year. She takes the day off and the Office Manager helps her cook for the whole party. We do a white elephant as well.
