Hot Chocolate race clusterF
i know there is a thread on this on H&F but OMG what a horrible race. I actually ran a great race and felt fantastic through the whole thing, which is a first for me, but damn, traffic was a mess, it started an hour late, we ran on a highway and there were way way way too many people for National Habor.

Hot Chocolate race? Awesome name for a race but sorry everything sucked so hard. I'm still such a newb about running that those kinds of issues would make me seriously anxious.
Still - yay for a good race. That always feels awesome!
I saw the facebook page and the epic fail facebook page.
It sounds like this was an incredibly poorly planned race and they let in way too many entrants!
Congrats on a great race!

I live in Oxon Hill and the race circled my neighborhood, blocking every exit. The police weren't informed about the race in advance so no alternative routes were planned. It was a disaster. I had a charity event I was IN CHARGE OF that I had to skip because I was trapped for 2.5 hours! I'm still pissed.
Who the hell plans a race around a neighborhood without telling the police? Thank God no one started dying and needed out!
I posted on H&F but it was ridiculous! I'm usually a peppy optimist about most things but I really can't give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to this one! At least the chocolate was good!
Oh and the email the race director sent out was almost laughable! No I will not be returning next year, but thanks for trying to explain your way out of this mess...sigh.
