I want to take a family picture for Christmas cards and such. DH proposed just the kids, but no. A.) I look like a scragglemuffin mess in 99% of our everyday pictures. There needs to be official documentation that I looked cute at one point in their childhood. B.) There?s no way they?ll sit still for a picture unless someone is holding them down.
Here?s what we did last year. I liked how it turned out, but it was at my parents? house, and I don?t want the same background.
My dad and his fancy camera will take it, but I need to tell him what I want to do. Would I be a bad mom to take everyone out in the snow without coats? Their new sweaters are so cute. ![]()
Has anyone seen or done anything you could share. I?m dying for suggestions. TIA!
Re: Where did you take your family Christmas picture?
I would think if they are in their sweaters and you're only out long enough for the picture, you're fine!!!!
Granted, we did it in November, but we did pics in the morning and it was chilly... But we were out for 30 minutes or so, and just threw his coat on as soon as we were done!

Problem solved!
I haven't braved Village Pointe this holiday season yet, but they always have s Christmas decorated area. I saw a really cute picture of a family in front of a big white, country/farm, like fence. It was in the snow without coats on. It looked pretty with the snow covered trees in the background.
Good luck!

We are doing ours in front of our tree (Last year it was at the inlaws in FL).
I second Regency-their decorations are pretty good...plus you could do the Santa visit (their Santa rocks) and get 2 things done in 1 day!
IMO, you could totally do a snow pic sans coat-they aren't newborns and it will only be for a minute.
What about Durham Tree or go to Midtown. There is a church (we got married there) on Pacific Street around 96th street. It is on the right hand side as you are traveling west. Well to the side of the church is a country like wooden fence.
Try something like that.
What about going to a tree farm?
Mulhall's. They have little spots set up to take pictures. And it's semi-indoors so not cold at all. We got some cute ones of our kids and their cousins a couple weeks ago.
Plus the boys could see the reindeer, real ones. They will need their coats for this, as it's an outside exhibit.
