What to wear? holiday party edition
DH's company party is this weekend at SEAR (Marriott downtown). It's an IT company and most guys probably won't even wear a suit. I'll consider myself lucky if I can talk DH into putting on a tie. The restaurant's suggested attire is "business casual." DH and I have been there before once, but it was during Dragon*Con, so jeans were the norm for the time.
I thought about just wearing black slacks and a nice sweater, but get this - I don't have any slacks that fit! I thought I had some that would work, but they are all too big. Getting DH to take me shopping for more this week is an exercise in futility, not to mention we're on a spending freeze.
I do have a few dresses that I bought this year for various events and for our upcoming cruise. Unfortunately, I can't find pics online anymore, so descriptions will have to do.
Option 1: LBD, one of my favorites, but it has a v-neck that puts the girls on display. I'm afraid it would be too much. It has a ruched band at the empire waist and flows out from there. I wore it in Vegas and is what I'm wearing in my FB profile pic (DH would wear the same damn blue shirt, lol).
Option 2: reddish-purple, also v-neck, but isn't so revealing. It is a very flattering mock-wrap. Found it! This dress in this color.
Option 3: a very casual black and blue/green print dress, v-neck, empire waist. It's not my favorite, but I got it for $10 and figured I'd wear it on the cruise. 
Option 4: dark jeans and a nice sweater or long/flowy cardigan, dressed up with jewelry with boots or heels
I have a few black wraps to choose from and will wear black low heels w/ the dresses.
Which would you pick?

While I think a LBD is appropriate for almost any party, if you are self-conscious about the girls being on display all night, you won't be comfortable.

Ok, so #2, with a black wrap. I have a solid one and a sheer-ish with beading along the edges. It's going to be cold, so I'm leaning toward the solid one. I hate wearing hose and it looks awful with my skin-tone, so I'll just freeze instead.
I have a few options for jewelry. I'm thinking of wearing my topaz pendant kind of this:
The one I have has more purples/greens and it changes in the light. I also have stud earrings to match.
I have pearls in single strand form and a 3-pearl pendant that I wore for my wedding:
I have the matching earrings too. I don't think it would go with the dress though.
I also have a 3-stone diamond pendant that DH has pieced together for me over the years, along with stud earrings. It's kinda' like this:
I'm thinking the topaz or the diamonds. What do you girls think?
i'd do topaz. could you wear sheer black hose instead of trying to match your skintone?
