Saw your post about Z's gift. I bought the Lodge cast iron skillet and I love it! They actually sell them at Wal-mart. Of course, I bought mine from a specialty cookware store and paid double 
I would highly recommend that brand. They are impossible to ruin! I am actually asking for the 6qt round dutch oven for Xmas myself. Hint, hint to my Z!

I saw them yesterday while at walmart but wasn't sure how great it would be coming from walmart but it was affordable. I found them at sur la table but for $130 and definitely cannot afford that.
He is really in to cooking and has inspired me to become more domesticated. I cooked my first beef stew last night and had everyone going in for 2nds, 3rds and licking the bowl clean.
Good for you! I LOVE to cook and so does Z. He actually makes a really good creme brulee. Lucky for him he left for his military training or else I would contemplate forcing him to make me some!
I know what you mean about the Walmart factor. I was PISSED when I saw the same skillet at almost half the cost! I actually have quite a few pieces of Le Creuset cookware and while I like it, I really can't justify the price tag. I am hoping the Lodge dutch oven performs like the skillet!
