Dental Hygienist looking for a job.
Hello! I am new here. I have been reading the posts but never have posted one myself. I am a newlywed (10/15/2011). Currently, I am looking for a job as a dental hygienist and I have been for about a year and a half. I guess I am just seeking any advice from any fellow hygienists out there. Do you have any tips for job searching that you found successful or words of encouragement? I am getting discouraged.

In my area dental hygenists jobs are hard to come by and full time jobs are even more scarce. A friend of mine works two part time jobs and has no benefits. The local univeristy has a great program and I think the area is a little oversaturated with students compared to jobs. She is part of some subsituting list. I guess if you need a day off you have to find another licensed hygenist to sub for you. You might reach out and see if there is a way to get on the list to get your feet in some doors.
