Poll- Engagements brewing?
PrettyinPearl's post below got me thinking. I'm predicting there may be several engagements on the SO board in the next couple months. My crystal ball sees the highest probability for those listed below, but feel free to add in your hunches![Poll]

I think my odds are good (obviously) but wouldn't be surprised if FF waits until after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season...and that's fine by me!
But ditto achase...what about YOU Haines?!?
Haha! I will admit it is on my mind, but L and I have only been together 6 months as of now. Although, it does seem longer than that and our relationship is moving along faster than any of mine in the past. If he did ask me, I would say yes. I know in my gut he's the one!

FF also mentioned that he needs to talk to my dad first. Which, like you, is something my XH didn't do. FF gets serious points for doing that.
I voted FormerlyAK, but to be honest, I don't remember the back story on most of the other options.
I am out for sure. I love my SO, but I told him recently I'd like to wait a couple years.
OMG I can't belive I got such a high percentage of the votes. But I can tell you that an engagement is probably not part of my holiday season -- it's in my future, but not that near in the future. Marriage is a very scary thing to my BF because of something very personal that happened to him. He is big on taking things slowly where that is concerned.
He calls me "HisLastName in Training." So I know it's on his mind and that is his intention. He knows that he wants kids and I made it clear that while I want another, my "shop" closes at 40 (which is in about 4 years) and I am not having a baby before we are married. He said he is aware of my timeline and it will all happen in that timeframe.
So I know it will happen, but I think sometime in the next year is more realistic than over the holidays.
