Re: Dexter Clicky Poll

  • Feel free to list your favorite seasons in order too if you want!

    Mine are:

    1. Season 4 with Trinity

    2. Season 5 with Lumen

    3. Season 3 with Jimmy Smits

    4. Season 1 with the Ice Truck Killer

    5. Season 2 with Lila

    6. Season 6 with Doomsday - I think it's just atrociously bad tv. I am so disappointed with this season.

Swap #2 with #3 and my list is the same. I LOVE Dexter, but I actually stopped watching after the 3rd or 4th episode, and I have no curiosity about what I'm missing. It was nothing in particular, just nothing seemed that interesting to me this time and it seemed boring. Glad to see I'm not missing much!

  • 1. Season 5 with Lumen

    2. Season 4 with Trinity

    3. Season 1 with ITK

    4. Season 3 with the skinner

    5. Season 6 / Season 2

Can't quite decide on the worst. This season certainly seems to have really weak writing. But it doesn't seem to annoy me quite as much as season 2, when I was annoyed by both Rita and Lila.

I really hope there is some kind of shake up based on the response to this season, and they really tighten up the story-telling for the last two seasons. It's sad to see things fall apart so badly, especially when the Lumen season had me at the edge of my seat, literally, all season long.

  • I'm obviously in the minority, but I love this season.

I'm really enjoying the sloppy, more human Dexter. I like Colin Hanks as the bad guy (he's no John Lithgow, granted), and I think the story line is captivating and original.

It has been predictable at times, and there have been a lot of, "Well, that was convenient" moments. (For example, Deb finding out THAT quickly that Matthews send flowers to the hooker.) Once you get past that, though, I don't have any problems with this season.

I love the pairing of Batista and Quinn, and I'm also loving crazy Deb (much more than I love normal slutty Deb).

I think the amount of chaos this season has kept things interesting.

Ok, I lied. I have one problem: Why isn't there more Masuka?

  • I'm in the minority too - I've liked this season overall.  It definitely isn't Trinity- but nothing ever will be.  I'm not going to compare future seasons to that.

Now that I've been reminded of it- I do think Season 2 is pretty close to the worst for me.  Rita always annoyed me and I did NOT like Lila.

  • I like this season a lot. Here is my ranking:

    1. Season 4 (Trinity)

    2. Season 1 (Ice Truck Killer)

    3,4,5 (in no particular order): Seasons 3, 5, 6

    6. Season 2 (Lila)

The only season I really didn't love was Season 2. They killed off one of the show's best characters and we had to see annoying Lila and Rita all.the.time.

I agree - there's a lot going on, I like it. I need shows with multiple characters. I also love how Quinn hooked up with the Waffle House lady, hahaha and I agree.. MORE MASUKA and his dirty mind.

Edit: Speaking of Masuka... wtf is up with his interns?

I have this theory that Ben (I think that's the intern name?) is going to figure out Dexter or already has.

He's obsessed with serial killers (particularly the Ice Truck Killer and Bay Harbor Butcher) and is way too interested in Dexter (and dating the nanny and asking her questions about Dexter). Very suspicious.

  • I used to not be able to sleep on Sunday nights because I was so afraid of Dexter getting caught.  John Lithgow making that woman jump off the building kept me up for nights.

This season I've slept like a baby.  It's not horrendous, but it's definitely not the Dexter I know and love.

What's with him showing his true colors to so many people?  Jonah (Trinity's son) and Travis and I think someone else... In past seasons it was on accident (with Lumen and Jimmy Smits).

Also, he talks about his Dark Passenger a ton this season.  In past seasons he never mentioned it, but it was always a major part of the books.

  • My least favorite season was definitely Season Two. I couldn't stand Lila.

This season is okay, but it's not the same show I know and love.

  • I think this season is ok, I kinda like the more human Dexter. My main issue is how sloppy it is, just too many storylines...I was so excited to see what would happen with Trinity "coming back" and then that was over in like 12 minutes. I loved the Brother Sam storyline and then it just went away. Also, I freakin HATE Dexter's dad. On Sunday's episode when Travis is talking to dead Professor Gellar and Dex is talking to dead Harry I about lost it, it just seems so cheesy! Ok, end rant.

     My rankings:

    1) Season 4 with Trinity.

    2) Season 1 with the ice truck killer

    3) Season 5

    4) Season 6

    5) season 2

    6) season 3

  • My rankings:

    1. Season 4 w/Trinity

    2. Season 1 w/Ice Truck Killer

    3. Season 2 w/Lila & Bay Harbor Butcher

    4. Season 5 w/Lumen

    5. Season 3 w/Miguel

    6. Season 6 w/Doomsday

I'm pretty bored with this season. I keep on waiting for the 'Hello...Dexter Morgan' moment where I'm all OMFG!!!!! but I don't think it is going to happen this season.

I read speculation that the intern (Louis?) is ITK's son. Which would explain why they brought back Brian for that one episode, why he's all up in Dexter's business, and why he has the hand.

Ooooh! Look at you, bringing the goods! That makes a LOT of sense!

He also showed Dexter that new search engine and Dexter has been using it. I have a feeling it's something the intern is tracking so he knows all of Dexter's internet searches.

That would be nuts. I'm not sure ITK was old enough to have a son that age, though. I know he was older than Dexter, but not by much.

If the intern hasn't figured Dexter out yet, I have a feeling he will soon. Especially after Dex's freak out about his video game. (Which was hilarious, by the way.)

I think the intern is in cahoots with the blonde (fired) intern. Maybe. Hell, I don't know. The interns confuse me a lot. I wish they'd hurry and tell us what they're up to.

I love whoever suggested Louis is ITK's son. I'm totally intrigued. And I totally didn't catch on to the search engine thing, but that totally makes sense! Yeah... he's all up in Dexter's business so I knew he'd be important in later episodes. I loved Dexter's reaction to the video game, haha - and honestly, if I saw a video game that you could choose to be a serial killer that affected my town in the past 5 years, I would be uneasy about it.

Is Brian too young to have a college son? How old is Dexter supposed to be? Late 30s, or did he reach 40 yet? If so, Brian could definitely have a son. Or, he could have been a mentor to Louis at some point?

The more I think about it, he very well be his son.

Say Dexter is in his mid-30s (35 or so). ITK would be maybe 37ish. I'm assuming the intern is supposed to be college-aged (even though he looks like he's in his late 20s). It's possible that Brian knocked up a girl in high school or something. He definitely looks like they could be related.

  • Oh, I hadn't even thought about the search engine! That's a really good point.

And, that would be wild if he was the ITK's son!!

Dexter went to his 20th high school reunion, so he's at least 38.
