QOTD Tuesday (jobs)

What do you enjoy most about your job? What do you enjoy the least?

Re: QOTD Tuesday (jobs)

  • I enjoy being creative and making things come together.

I do not like how much paper work I generate. I create a massive amount of boring, but necessary,  physical paperwork and virtual paperwork.

  • Enjoy most: the writing. I've come to know the style and like to challenge myself when working with it (trying to get as creative as possible without stepping outside of the guidelines).

Enjoy least: I'm still pretty new, so I'm still getting up to speed on everything. There are times I feel a little lost, and frustrated since I feel I shouldn't be. I can't wait for that to go away.

  • Guiding and inspiring kids to better themselves. LOVE it. I hate parent-teacher interviews and report cards.
  • I enjoy that what I do is important to the company.  I enjoy that I am good at what I do, and I enjoy the role.

What I enjoy the least is February through April, when I'm here 75 hours a week.  We need more people in the group, but they won't give us the people.

  • I love that I get to be a part of crafting and guiding real estate deals.  No matter how many deals I do, each is different and challenging.

I dislike when other parties refuse to cooperate to get things done.  I have one deal where the other party refuses to send their documents electronically, which is causing lots of unnecessary delays.  This is just one example, but it happens often where one party is doing everything they can to move the ball forward and the other just tries to drag things out.  I think some of it has to do with lawyers trying to increase their fees because the economy still isn't great, and it's really unfair to their clients.

  • I love the people I work with and I love the job that I do. I love that my job is flexiable and not strict.

I hate that I have been here a year and I am still temp even though they say they will keep me temp as long as I allow it its frustrating. When I first started I was told temp for 90 days then permenant. There is a hiring freeze on the company so now no one can be hired permant. My boss thinks that will change after the first of the year. I really have my fingers crossed. I hate not getting paid for holidays and not having vacation time.

  • I love how flexible my work is, the job that I do, and most of the people I work with. I also like that my company has a pretty great recognition program and that they are big on trying to help you developmentally if you want to move up.

I dislike how most of the time they change a workflow, don't communicate it, and then look at you like you have 2 heads because you did something wrong.

  • I most enjoy the flexibility in terms of coming and going and holidays and relaxed work environment.

I enjoy the micromanagement by our President the least.  He won't let people do the jobs he's hired them to do.  I've never met a person so impervious to a reasonable case for doing something a new way than this man.

  • Enjoy most - my paycheck.

Enjoy least - babysitting grown adults and having the weight of an entire company on my shoulders when I'm not a decision maker.

  • I enjoy the most the time I spend with my cleint and getting the insight into a 90 yr old womans mind.

I enjoy the least that it is like pulling teeth to get my company to send me any of the paperwork I need to send in just so i can get my pay check

  • most: I am really good at what I do, because I've not only been a student here for 8 years, but I've worked here a couple years after that. I know the ins and outs and almost the entire staff at a medium sized university, which makes it really fun.

least: Everyone in upper management is far too willing to just bend over and do whatever someone wants when they whine enough. Unfortunately, there's a protocol in place that the rest of us try to follow to avoid last minute problems. It makes it really hard to do my job when people above me aren't backing up my decisions. It also makes for a bunch of grown whiners who are used to constantly getting their way.

  • Love: the kids, the fact that no two days are the same, the chaos, the curriculum. Don't love: administrative crap, difficult parents

  • I like knowing that I am making difference.  I don't like the agency that I work with.  I feel like I am being jacked around a lot, and that sometimes they keep me because they are afraid of losing my husband.   I am so over working there.

I found out because they don't have a kid for me to work with, I wont be getting paid.  So essentially I don't have a job starting in January.  Is there another place they could put me in?  Yes.  Will they?  No.  Just in case they need me in that position.  It would be to 'difficult' for the them to have me work for more than one supervisor.   I just have to push through until next summer.   Sorry. Vent over.
