V. Impt Clicky: If you have a simplehuman trash can (or other can with removable insert)

Do you/spouse remove the insert when removing the garbage bag? I do not. I may lift it up a bit to remove the bag edges or to tuck the new bag under, but I never need to take the entire liner out of the can just to remove the bag.

rrr will only empty the trash if I ask him to (as I did tonight because I didn't want to go outside), but he ALWAYS pulls it out and leaves it out. He does not put a new bag in...I suppose because I did not ask him to do that. [eyeroll]

  • No need to pull the whole thing out - just balance it a few inches out to get the old/new bag situated.
  • I voted no, but sometimes I do, I guess it depends on how full/heavy it is maybe?  I'm not sure, usually M does the trash, though he never puts a bag back in it either...   Then when he comes back in he always says "Oh! Would you put a bag in that?" Like he's surprised it needs a new bag.  sigh.

  • I said yes, but that is usually because it is so full you can't get the bag out. DH always pushes the trash down into the trash can so it won't be half full when we empty it. He wants it practically bursting.

  • We pull the whole thing out.  1) because it's usually full and 2) because C likes to help.
  • We don't have a removable insert in our can, so I didn't vote, but before we moved any time DH took the trash out he NEVER put a bag back in. Ever. It was so aggravating. Now we live in a condo and have a dumpster, so I usually take the trash out during the day when I take the dogs out.

  • My husband does the EXACT same thing! Leaves it out in the middle of the kitchen and never puts a bag back in and I have asked him to several times.

  • Are we married to the same man?  DH rarely takes out the trash, and for the first year claimed it was too complicated to put the bag in.  Now he'll take out the trash, but the liner is almost always left empty in the middle of the kitchen.  I almost died last week when I came home and the trash had been taken out and the bag replaced.

I rarely take the liner out.
