Someone is getting fired tomorrow. Having to fake normalcy is not fun. It's been expected for a while, but I wasn't prepared to walk into this today.
Re: I hate knowing this.
Yes, that is an awkward situation to be in and so unfair. I always want to put my fingers in my ears and scream, "Nahnahnah boo boo, i can't hear you!" when I hear news like that.
I'm glad it's not you.
He's working on something due tomorrow.
Good Job! Thanks for getting this project done! You win a pink slip!
I was laid off like this a couple of years ago. The day before my birthday. And my car had broken down when I had gone out to lunch and had been towed to the garage, so I had to call a friend and ask her to come pick up me and my little box of things. And the next day I had to drive DH to the airport for month long business trip out of the country.
My boss waited until I'd sent in the final PDF of something I'd been working on and called me into her office to tell me that my position no longer existed.
LOL. That's kind of sh!tty.
Kinda. He's got more in the works that I'll have to help take over. I think my boss just got the A-Ok from the President this morning, but wasn't quite ready to do it today until he had some things in place.
It's been a while in the works. If this guy is shocked by this, he's a bigger idiot than I thought.
