Where can I get moving boxes... for free?
We're in the process of moving and I'm in search of cardboard moving boxes... any ideas on where to get these for free? I've tried freecycle (don't want to go through the acceptance process) and CL doesn't seem to have anything... I am willing to drive all over MoCo. Thanks!
Re: Where can I get moving boxes... for free?
Dear Tulep,
I've been through three Freecycle groups (three locations) and the acceptance process has always been very simple and smooth. That said, my top places to get boxes are liquor stores, printing stores (FedexOffice/Kinkos) and Starbucks (specifically the boxes for bagged/retail coffee beans). They are all smaller boxes, but I like that because I am not tempted to put so much in them that they weigh too much. Several of our moves have been made with the same boxes -- solid!

Stand up for something you believe in.
Craigslist
Grocery Store
Work - for all our moves I have always taken the paper boxes from work...they are very sturdy and are great for moving.
ditto work - paper boxes are great
liquor stores often have really good boxes too. our movers must have thought we were alcoholics for all the wine boxes we used when we moved here!
