After I finished DH's sweater, I've been focusing on the mess of little gifts before digging into Mom's throw. I have started the throw, but I don't think I'm going to finish it before Christmas. Oh well. Mom will understand.
Some things I have finished are some felted slippers:

I knit those reeeallly big and then ran them twice through the washing machine so they felted up nice and tight. I plan to give the black and brown ones to our sisters, but I'm keeping the green ones for myself ![]()
Then, like Thess, I branched out with my crafting and actually made something I found on Pinterest (!) Some sunglasses cases:

Not super exciting, but it was really good sewing practice for me, considering I'm still working on sewing in a straight line. And the ladies I give these to won't have to worry about scuffed sunglasses anymore.
And as usual, I kept one for me ![]()

Wow, sorry, I usually include sources. Oops.
The slippers can be found here. PurlDiva's notes have an explanation for the button flap.
I got the tutorial for the sunglasses cases here.

Love the slippers! I thought they were this pattern at first, which I've kept queued because I think they're so cute.
And I'm jealous you've branched out into sewing. I keep meaning to--too many things I want/need to do, not enough time!
I love them!
I think I may run home tonight and make those glasses sleeves.
Thanks! They are a lot like the French Press Slippers, but the pattern is a lot cheaper and with PurlDiva's flaps, they're pretty much the same.
I hear you on the too many things to do! There is no way I'm going to finish my Christmas list this year. It's just not happening. However, I am trying to work my way up to slipcovers...slowly. First glasses cases, then maybe oven mitts and tote bags, and so on. We'll see how that goes.
