Stroller shopping is like car shopping...
so many choices and wow they can get expensive lol
I can't find previous post about stroller recs so sorry if there's one already and I missed it. Anyways, ladies please rec your strollers/travel system. Im so happy DH is on board about shopping for this, he's an online shopper. I would get text messages of different strollers he wants me to check out lol. We've been eyeing on the Britax B-ready and B-Scene but I heard B-ready is really good but pretty heavy and bulky. Any rec would be appreciated : ) the pros and cons.

Re: Stroller shopping is like car shopping...
We have the Chicco Keyfit system and LOVE it. We went for safety first and chose the Keyfit over the Snugride or Britax because of color (we bought the pink one "Bella").
However, if I did it over, I would have bought the convertible car seat and skipped the infant seat. The only reason being, Lila is getting super heavy to carry around in her infant seat, shes very small @ 9mos, and I find myself taking her out of it and leaving it attached to the base a lot. Car seats are expensive,at least the super safe ones are, and we are about to invest another $300 in a convertible seat. If I sell my car seat I am going to sell the matching stroller with it, so we have to invest another $180 in the lightweight stroller that I want. lol.

Just make sure if using a used car seat that it hasn't "expired". The plastic weakens over time, especially if there has been any sort of accident. It wouldn't get so weak it would fall apart, but I think there could be issues with insurance if you're using an expired seat.
And I know some people go straight to a convertible seat, but I could never see putting an infant in one. Quinn switched to his around 10 months, and he was still sorta small in it.

This. The manufacture date is on the bottom of the carseat and you shouldn't use it 4 years after that date, maybe even 3 since we live in such a warm climate. Also if it has been in an accident, even a fender bender, you need to purchase a new one, so don't ever purchase a used one without knowing and fully trusting the previous owner that it's never been in an accident.
I second Mayette about the travel system thing. I tried them out in the store and I hated them. They are big, bulky and weigh a lot.
I ended up getting a better car seat (the SnungRide 32) and the Graco stroller frame. Not only was it smaller, it was lighter so it made getting the stroller in and out of the car easier.

FYI, BRU is having a special right now that if you buy a car seat from them the frame is only $49. I have no idea how long that special is good for but I saw the add the other day in the mail.
Also, as soon as Macy was able to sit up on her own, I switched her over to an umbrella stroller. Those things are super light and fold down nicely. I think the one I have now only weighs 11lbs or so. Easy to carry with one hand.

I obviously don't have firsthand experience yet, but I researched the crap out of strollers for about a solid month. Because we don't drive, our stroller will be our baby's main mode of transportation (that or a carrier), and I need something lightweight and easy to fold (and carry up and down subway steps). I realize these concerns are somewhat unique to city life, but I think a lightweight, easy to fold, well-reviewed stroller is desirable anywhere! All that being said we're going with the City Mini. It's only like 17.5 lbs, folds up super easily, big sunshade, etc. We "test drove" it at BBB and loved it. Now that we've decided, we see them EVERYWHERE - I would bet it's one of (if not the) most popular strollers around here. I guess that makes me feel more confident, haha!

I have the Chicco Keyfit travel System and I love it. I have never found it to be too bulky or heavy. It is perfect for our needs so I've been happy with it.
The infant seat is one of the lighter seats we carried around at the store when we were testing out car seats. I've also seen the infant seats that snap onto a basic stroller frame...I thinkit's called the snap n go or something. that looks really lightweight too. there are so many options to choose from, it really is hard! It really boils down to what you'll be using it for.
You may want to look into infant carriers too, like the Ergo or Moby wrap. Zoe hasn't been a huge fan, but I couldn't put her in one until we knew her hips were ok so we waited too long, I think.
Obviously mine is a double, but I also love the City Mini! It's so lightweight and easy to manuever, even as a double, so I'm sure a single would be even more so! I'm constantly folding it up and lifting it into my car and it hasnt taken out my back yet

THIS!!
I LOVE my Baby Jogger City Select and it's really great if you have a second kid. We bought the car seat attachment at Buy Buy Baby and I also 'test drove' all the strollers in BBB. The Britaz was a little bulkier and had foam handles that were starting to tear already. Plus I like how durable the city select is and there are so many attachments you can add and you can face the seat towards you or away from you.
It retails or around 500 but I found it online for $300.
Good Luck!
We have this too! And also LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
