If you're in France- Alinea?

I'm looking to replace some of DD's bigger toys when we get to France (like her play kitchen that just isn't worth paying the cost to move from here). I stumbled across this site for a vendor called Alinea and the prices seem reasonable, but I have no idea if the quality is any good. Has anyone ever heard of it?

I can post a link if you need more info.

Re: If you're in France- Alinea?

  • My parents go to France for a month every summer and I know my mum absolutely loves Alinea. Though they usually only buy kitchen/decor stuff. Like they have plates and glasses they've bought over the years and decorative pillows and curtains. I don't know anything about quality.

  • I've never heard of Alinea, but I'll check it out!

Last winter I ordered from a site called la Redoute (laredoute.fr) and the quality of toys etc... have been very good. They have everything.

You should also check joueclub.fr for toys, it's like toys r us. We have a shop just down the street, but I ordered once from their online store, I was very pleased with shipping time and the price was cheaper than in shop.

Thank you! I'm putting a link to some of the Alinea stuff below. Also, I never answered your question in another post of mine about our recent house-hunting trip. Everything is set! We found an apartment and a bilingual(ish) preschool in the 6th. We looked at the public maternelle, but because it was mid-year, they couldn't guarantee us a spot until September and I really wanted DD to start somewhere right away, both to meet other kids and to start learning French asap. The school we found is a very American-style play-based preschool and the director seemed really warm and attentive to the kids. It's mostly in French, with circle time in English every day and 1 English-speaking teacher to help the kids who don't speak French yet. They're really flexible and don't mind if I take her out some days early or miss school to travel, something that seemed like a big no-no at some of the other private schools we toured.

Here's some of the kids' stuff on Alinea:
