I need an idea for a "best appetizer" prize
There is an appetizer show down where everyone is bringing their best dish, and I need to get a prize for the person who gets the most votes. I don't want to spend more than $25, though. It needs to be appropriate for both men and women. I know that a nice bottle of wine is an option, but I wanted to see if there was something else I could do instead. Also, I'd like to give the winner a crown/sash/chef hat that says something like Best Cook or something clever or funny. Ideas?
Thanks!
Re: I need an idea for a "best appetizer" prize
I love the idea of a chef's hat - that's really cute.
What about a gift card to a gourmet store in the area, or something like William Sonoma or Sur la Table or something cooking related?
(I'm always looking for great app ideas - I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love some new recipes if any are great ones are shared!)
I like the idea of chefs hat/apron as the crown/sash.
Honestly, I'd just hit up a store and either get one nice thing from WS, Sur La Ta., etc or make it slightly funny and hit the dollar store or As Seen on TV and get a weird kitchen gadget.
Or get ap specific tools like a good serving platter, utensils, or toothpicks and cocktail napkins, etc.
I think this is a great idea. I cook all the time and I'm also obsessed with this place.

Personally, I wouldn't like either of these. A salt/pepper grinder in that range would be cheap, and I'm particular about my spices.
I like the idea of a gift cert to Sur la Table... You could get a really cute $10'ish appetizer platter/chip & dip/crudite platter at a place like Ross/Marshall's/TJMaxx plus a $15 gift card.
Thanks everyone! You all have great ideas. I think I'll get a chef's hat and a gift card to Williams Sonoma. That way, they can use it towards something chef-y. Now...who sells chef hats?
