what kind of car do you have?

I love my car, it's roomy, sporty, etc but it gets really shitty gas mileage.  I'm thinking about trading in.  What vehicle do you have and what mileage do you get?  My car gets about 17 mpg.

Re: what kind of car do you have?

  • Honda Civic.  LOVE it.  It's small, but I drive ~100 miles/day to and from work, and get 37/38 mpg in the summer.  Lower 30s in the winter when it's super cold out.  I don't think we'd be able to keep it if it was our 'family' car, but DH drives a Hyundai Santa Fe (that gets around 23 mpg) that we use whenever we all go somewhere.
  • Honda Accord (V6).  It gets about 23-25 in town, close to 30 on the interstate.
    * DS1...allergic to dairy, peanuts, eggs and turkey *

  • Toyota Corolla

It gets probably about 30-40 interstate and a little less in the city.

    I love it!

  • I want your car. Wanna trade? :)

no trades, but you can buy it!

  • 2008 Ford Taurus...it gets fairly good gas mileage on the Highway/Interstate for being a larger car at 26-28 mpg.   I don't really drive "in town" enough to know what it gets in that regards and we needed the larger vehicle because of how tall my husband is and it has plenty of room for him.  It actually had more leg room than most mid-size SUVS!
  • 2009 Chevy Traverse - 19 mpg in town, 21 highway

2009 Toyota Camry - 26 mpg in town, not sure on highway

I used to have a Toyota Corolla, and that thing got at least 30 mpg in town, and close to 40 mpg on the highway.  It was a 2002, I think.  My mom has one now, and it gets even better mileage.

  • Honda Accord (V6).  We get about 21-24mpg in town.  I am not sure on the interstate, it's dh's car.  They can look sporty (dh's is black with tinted windows) and are very roomy.

  • What kind of car do you currently drive? My car is for sale if you want a fun 2010 camaro! lol It's not really that car seat friendly though.
  • 2011 Ford Edge - I average 24 - 26 mpg and it is AWD....with my 2008 Edge that was AWD I only averaged 19 mpg. LOVE my car.
  • We have a 2011 Camry. It gets 27 mpg in town. Much better then our Denali that gets like 13. Barf. If Kyle didn't need a huge vehicle for his job we wouldn't have it.
  • I've always loved Honda and Acura. Used to have a civic for 6 years and loved it but someone hit me and totalled it. I wanted a SUV so got an Acura RDX. I love it - smaller SUV so more sporty but still has plenty of room. But my gas mileage is around 18 and I have to use premium. I pry would have considered something else but I have had no issues with it. And I don't like the Honda Pilot or CRV.

Oh yea, I want yours too. Cass-mine is car seat friendly Wink Hell, I've even gotten 3 in there at one time.

Oh, you don't want a 6yr old car w/ 69k miles on it? Well damn. Big Smile

Though in all honesty, when we get my Mustang or Camaro, we are trading Devon's in, not mine.

Cass-can I drive yours on a snowy side street sometime? I'm kidding. Sort of.  I'm thinking of renting a mustang so I can judge it. I think I can do it. My first car was a RWD w/ a stock car engine in it. (and it was a station wagon-holla!) but we sandbagged the hell out of it.

  • We have a Dodge Charger and it gets at least 25 - 27 mpgs city. It's a very roomy vehicle.

Our Jeep Commander is terrible at a whopping 14 mpg but it has a Hemi.
