Fiberglass Bathtubs, Ugh.

Okay so the appartment that I'm living in has fiberglass bathtubs and if you go in with dirty feet, its all over. I read a soultion online for part dish soap and part laundry detergent. It works, kind of..By the time I'm done scrubbing the tub i've been staring at it so long I loose track of wether its a dirt mark or shaddow, and I ALWAYS end up missing some and by that time I'm over scrubbing. (its not smooth its got leeettttlee tiiiiny ridges :[ )

So basically what I'm asking is if anyone has any experience with this and has a better soultion than just pouring my dish soap and laundry detergent in to a cup and hoping for the best lol.

Thanks in advance!

  • I have no clue.

Is there a name imprinted on it anywhere for the maker? Or could you do research and find out who makes them? A company who makes these might know, or a seller.

I'd say ask Home Depot or Lowes or someplace like that, but it's amazing how little they know at those stores for how much they boast about helping people with questions.

  • Have you tried a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or a generic version) on it? I'm not sure if the tub we have is the same kind as yours, but it's far and away the best thing I've found to clean mine when it actually gets dirty.

Inbetween Magic Eraser scrubbings, I spray the daily shower spray and that helps a lot. But I do have to keep up with it (like once a week) or else it requires a LOT more scrubbing the next time.

  • I use soft scrub on mine. The grit really helps get stuff out of the cracks.

Orginially that's what my mom suggested too, did nothing for my tub :(

I've had many fiberglass tub questions over the years and Lowes and HD are worthless. Seriously, you'd think no one had a fiberglass tub!
