Re: QOTD (IHO of MrsSstrug)

  • Snickerdoodles.  For some reason they weren't a cookie my mom ever made growing up, and I love cinnamon so now I can't get enough of them.

  • this is like asking what kid i love more!

I've recently been on a shortbread kick, though.  Especially lightly flavored shortbread (I make a sage-scented one that's good & am thinking about trying out a lavender or violet or rose one).  I'll never turn down a good chocolate chip cookie though.  Especially if warm & slightly soft.

is there something you need to tell us?  ;)

  • My grandma used to make these chocolate air puff things that were soft and chewy on the inside and sprinkled with powdered sugar.  She passed away last year so we didn't have them and NOONE can find the recipe.
  • I'm going with M&M cookies.  I love them- they're the perfect mix of chocolate chip like cookie and childhood nostalgia.

  • My mom's chocolate chip cookies.  I don't know wtf she does, but I cannot make them taste like hers.  They taste like heaven.
  • i love a classic, chewy chocolate chip cookie (or bar), especially when still warm

  • Chocolate chip. I know they're cliche, but my grandma always made them and now I use her recipe and it's SO GOOD.

LOL, no.  Some day, but not right now. Just using the expression!

  • I love chocolate chip cookies. Boring, but true.

  • I love a good oatmeal raisin cookie, but I'm also partial to ginger cookies. I have a recipe for spicy, chewy ginger cookies that have an insane amount of spices in them (including black pepper!), and they are so soft and delicious.
  • My mom makes a mocha chocolate chip bar that is my absolute absolute favorite.  They are made with coffee grounds (pre-brewed) and are kind of dry/crunchy but they totally melt in your mouth.  They are one of those things that I never try to make b/c I know they'll never taste the same as the ones that she makes.

  • Peanut butter chocolate chip. Mmmm.

Now I'm wondering why I'm not making those for Saturday. Maybe next year.

  • It needs to be soft and chewy.  I am not a crisp cookie person.  After that, my favorite is probably chocolate chip, but any soft and chewy cookie will make my heart go pitter patter...
  • Good old chocolate chip cookie. DH's grandma made THE.BEST.EVER! She taught MIL who taught DH. Seriously, any cookie baking in our house is done by him - not me.

  • Spritz cookies--my mom swears she made them when we were kids, but I don't remember them from but maybe 5 years ago or so.  I love the almond taste, and making sure there are plenty of sprinkles on them.  After all, sprinkles make everything better!

  • I grew up with anise oil cookies for Christmas - like sugar cookie dough you roll out, but not as rich or sweet. They smell like the anise oil (licorice), but don't taste of it ... hard to describe. I HATE licorice and I love these cookies.

Roll, 'em, cookie-cutter 'em, sprinkle 'em with red or green sugar crystals, bake, and yum. Love to dunk 'em in my tea, too.

  • Snickerdoodles for sure- I love cinnamon!
  • For a 'complicated' cookie, my fave is grandma's pineapple filled cookies.  I don;t know if I will get around to them this Christmas but I love them since they are different than the general cookies I make year round.

For a more basic cookie I love a chewy oatmeal with raisens.

  • In addition to chocolate chip, this time of year I love white chocolate chip with cherries.
