What's for dinner?

I don't know yet.

Re: What's for dinner?

  • The schedule says pork chops.

However, I'm not up to making the amazing chops that I did last week, so we are having leftover rice and sausage.

  • I have chicken thawing, so probably something involving chicken.  That's as far as I've gotten.

    Is Tuesday pork chop day?

  • Reheated fish from last night and some greens probably. We have a ton of stuff to eat from our CSA box.

  • I don't know yet, either.

Maybe just takeout. I have to clean the living room and get ready for tree decorating festivities, so I don't feel like cooking.

No. But we have an entire hog in our freezer. Every day is pork day around here. DH's friend traded us some beef for some of our pork and I nearly kissed him.

I also have our entire month's meals scheduled out in advance.

  • A month! Impressive. I could never do that for many many reasons, but I am impressed, nonetheless.

I have decided that we are eating something that involves kale and beans. Too bad I finished all the feta this afternoon. That would have been a good addition, too.

  • It makes life so much easier around here, I swear. I spend an hour once a month making the schedule and a shopping list and then I don't have to think about it again. I keep my list with me, find the stuff that is on sale (either at Sam's in the "city" or at the local grocery store) and at least I know that I have it on hand. The biggest problem I have is remembering to unthaw something.

Some nights (like tonight) I'm just not feeling it, so we make something else instead. I love cooking and grocery shopping though. And I'm a big budgeter too, so I love when I can buy things in bulk and on sale.

  • Biscuits and gravy.

    Because I am a porker.

    And PMSing.

    Oink

  • Beef stir fry with Chinese vegetables and brown rice, and maybe homemade chicken egg rolls.  I'm hoping my top round steak is tender enough after marinating 12 hours in ponzu sauce with lime juice.
