We're trying to think of something for DH to get the guys that work in his shop and don't want to spend a lot of money.
I was going to make gift baskets with all kinds of goodies and throw in some scratch off lottery tickets as well. DH doesn't think the lottery tickets are "appropriate for work", but I don't see the issue (don't see it any different than gift cards). What do you think?
Any other ideas besides gift cards? All of the guys are in their late 30s to late 50s--auto mechanics and DH's assistant, if that helps with ideas.

Re: Employee gift ideas?
I kind of agree about the lottery tickets, I don't know why, but I do. I think most people just want cash or cash equivalent. Obviously that would add up quickly so I think you can do some goodies, as you suggest, and then a smaller gift card or something.
That's what we were originally going to do but these guys...ugh, so frustrating! When the shop won a contest, there was several hundred dollars given to the shop to spend on a group activity...it tooks the guys MONTHS to come to an agreement. They turned their head at every restaurant idea, slacked in decision making and missed the chance at a private suite at a baseball game, and at any other group activity (such as bowling). DH finally decided on Dave & Busters and told them that's the decision, either show up or don't, their choice. I don't want our money to be wasted and DH thinks even a $10 gift card to Dunkin Donuts would be wasted on them :-/
And truth be told, half the guys probably don't deserve anything because they drag their feet so much at work.
I saw a cute idea on a blog. " (blank) in a jar." You take a jar, and fill it with whatever themed items would be appropriate. What if you do "Coffee Break in a Jar." You could put a packet of instant coffee (starbucks via) and a donut, and a $5 dunkin card?? You could put it in a coffee mug from dollar tree instead of a jar and wrap it in celafane. <--- idk how to spell that
Also add a tag that says something to reflect what it is. "Coffee break in a jar/mug." or "Happy Holidays. Thanks for your hard work. Next coffee break's on us."
This could be relatively cheap, easy and still some effort so it's a tad personal.
