Did you sell your ring(s)?
I just did today and it felt weird. Not why you'd expect it to feel weird, but just because it was so fast and easy. I was in and out of the shop in 5 minutes. I had the appraisal paperwork with me, so haggling wasn't that necessary. He offered a price, and then 45 seconds later handed me the cash.
It feels mighty strange that it's so easy to sell something so precious. I'd been kicking it around for a few months, so this wasn't exactly a spontaneous decision.
If you and your spouse parted on civil terms, would it be harder to sell a wedding ring? Is it much easier if you're glad to be rid of the bum?

Re: Did you sell your ring(s)?
I was the one who wanted to leave my XH, and I gave him my rings back. No idea what he did with them.
If he had not taken them back, though, I probably would have sold them. I am pretty practical, when it comes down to it, and a few hundred dollars in my bank account would mean more to me at this point than two sentimental mementos from someone who's not in my life anymore. Call me insensitive.

I am currently waiting on a buyer for mine. I had a huge e-ring so selling it will give me a lot of financial stability. I doubt it will feel weird.
I almost feel like I earned the cash from putting up with all of the crap in the marriage. To me, this is what I should have gotten from the settlement but didn't. I know this might sound strange, but I'm definitely worth what I will get from my ring.
I feel like Charlotte in the SATC episode where she tells Bunny she's worth a million...this isn't exactly million, but it's a good deal of money. I'm worth it, damnit, and I can't wait to sell my rings!
Nah, I still have mine. maybe use it as a trade in value - it holds its value where xh & i bought it from.
I took the diamond out of my solitaire e ring and made it into a pendant that I will give to DD when she graduates from college. I wear it now almost daily.
I sold the e ring setting and plain platinum band.
That sounds a little cheap. Granted I did this 4 years ago so I don't know what the market is doing now compared to them.
If memory serves me correctly, XH paid about $4500-5000 for both and I got about $1400 for them.
I would shop around if I were you. I went to about 7 different places

My set cost XH ~$9,000 and the jeweler that designed and made them offered me $1500. I was able to sell them consignment through the store and got offered $3300...I got $3000 cash, the jeweler got $300. I was happy with what I got, especially since I didn't pay anything for them originally!
Definitely shop around to jewelers, pawn shops, online or if you know anyone who may be getting engaged soon. Resale on rings is not so good, so don't be surprised if you get some low offers. Good luck!
I still have mine, and I feel that I paid for them, since I paid off all of STBXH debt while we were married so we could buy a house. He bought both at Zales, and after he moved out reported them stolen to Zales (such a nice a**hole) so they cannot be cleaned or check any more. Kay's will give me $2500 towards trade in on other dimond jewlery, so I am taking it in this weekend while I am out of town and getting my new Jewelry ordered. Monday STBXH will be in contempt of court for not coming to the table and the Judge will rule on who gets what. Rings in ND once married are considered a gift and he cant ask for them back. He abandoned the property and pets so he has no rights to them. Hopfully everything is signed stamped and sealed before Christmas!
No. I went to local jewelry stores, pawn shops and consignment shops.
