Holiday gifting related- how many do you buy for?
How many family members and how much extended family do you buy for?
Re: Holiday gifting related- how many do you buy for?
Family - My mom, my dad, my sister, my brother, my nephew, DH's mom, DH's dad, DH's brother (8)
Extended Family - my grandma, my second cousins (2) so three total. I usually buy an extra generic gift in case one of my aunts or uncles gives us a gift and I don't want to be caught empty handed!
Kind of sad this year, but for the past five years I've always made a photo book for DH's grandparents for Christmas. They love pictures and we don't see them often, so it was nice (and self-centered but I swear they loved it). However, his grandma passed in February and his grandpa in April. I really enjoyed putting together the books and I got sad over the weekend thinking how I wouldn't be putting together a book this year.
- My Mom
- My Dad
- Father-in-law
- Mother-in-law
- My Grandma
- My Aunt (something really small - got her a $6 pin at a craft fair this year)
- DH's Grandma
- Nephew
We're not exchanging gifts with SIL and her fiance since we're buying a house and they're saving for their wedding so that's a little less than usual this year.We exchange with - my parents and sister, DH's parents and siblings and spouses (supposed to be small/joke gifts) and then 3 nieces, 1 nephew.
I would like to just to get presents for the kids at this point - the rest of it is just grasping for things to buy each other.
Mom, Dad, MIL, FIL, sis, BIL, BIL, SIL, grandparents (1 small gift for the two of them), aunt, 3 friends, 3 kids, plus now DS. Oh and DH and I buy gifts for each other too.
So how many is that? 18. That's a lot.

Then we do small or homemade gifts for friends, like plates of cookies and stuff...but not really "exchange". We have big families and it's expensive...we don't buy really expensive gifts for each other though. Like $50 gifts are really expensive comparatively, my family stays in the $20-30 range.
