help me solve a stupid debate/POLL

I'm giving my mom and sister each a little italian soda 'kit' for one of their Christmas presents (all three of us love them).  I got them the reusable cups (you know, those ones that look like the disposable ones for iced drinks) and want to find the syrup.  I'm SO annoyed right now that I can't seem to find it in small bottles.  a) I wanted to give them each a couple of flavors and b) who needs a GIANT bottle of syrup since I don't think you use that much at a time.

The options below include a 3-pack found here or a 6-pack found here.  The downside is, like I said, those are huge bottles and my original idea was to find several smaller ones.  #firstworldproblems

ETA: I realize that not all of the flavors would be good in an Italian soda if I get the 6-pack, but they could use them for coffee/hot chocolate too.

really?  I think a different brand would be ok.  For some reason I've never seen this and totally thought it was a 'special' kind of thing.

also good suggestion about buying bottles and filling them.  anyone want to comment about how messy they think this might be? ;)

  • With a funnel it shouldn't be messy at all! :)

But they do sell those types of syrups on the coffee aisle at QFC/Safeway, etc.

the syrup? no, it's not special Wink

you can find a few bottles here and there throughout the grocery store (check the coffee section).

and you can buy TONS of different flavors if you go to business costco or cash&carry.

i also *love* italian soda and i have it all the time. the current flavors i have at home right now are guava, raspberry, blackberry, and lime.

I just knew this was something I should ask about on here!  And I should clarify, by special I didn't mean I thought this was going to be a unique gift, just that it would be a specialty item I wouldn't be able to find :)  thanks for the tip!

  • I know for sure that Cost Plus carries the big bottles in store, I'm pretty sure they have the small bottles too.

  • Here is a gift pack. Pretty cool, even comes with pumps.

Here is just a reg syrup $7.95 or 3 pack for $22.05

DARN IT! I thought these were actually small bottles...but turns out they aren't. anyhow, they are cheaper.

ETA: Here is a link where you can find out which stores near you sell it.

  • I love Italian sodas. Cash n' Carry carries a zillion flavors, but I believe only the large bottles. Cost Plus Marketplace carries them as well and although it doesn't show on their website, pretty sure they carry quite a few flavors in the small bottles in store. DeLaurenti in Pike Market also carries a bunch (specially the Monin syrup which I think often has tastier versions) and I'll bet they would also have small bottles, but I would call rather than deal with driving down there and finding out they don't.

  • this is a really cute idea. i'd hold out and try to find small bottles.. just because i don't like clutter.. if you think they'll drink the big ones.. give them those!

That's a good idea!  The big ones are really inexpensive there, so the small ones are probably a great deal, too.
