Job Search Rant

I hate when companies require you to answer stock questions when applying for positions online. You've already required my resume and cover letter and yet I have to hash out answers to questions like "Please describe a time when you have managed to work through conflicting priorities that were assigned to you and how you did so."

That is an interview question.

Re: Job Search Rant

  • Those kinds of questions are silly and usually the response is too extensive for the amount of space they give you.. unless just emailed a list of questions.. Either way, they should either do a phone interview or bring you in.

    This!

Hopefully things really pick up after the holidays.

  • Glad I'm not the only one that thinks these questions are ridiculous.

Alas, I'll be answering 4 questions similar to this today since this application is due by tonight.

  • I admit, this fascinates me. I don't think I've seen those kinds of questions asked for job applications in my field. Mostly, I send off resumes and then hear nothing back ever. :(
