got my photo cards

Ugh.  I chose one with a black background because it had the layout I preferred.  Just got them and the black background has faint but clearly distinguishable grey lines!  Argh!!!  The photos don't seem as crisp as last year either so wonder if they changed vendors.  I complained to Shutterfly so we'll see what they do but seriously, these do not look great.  And I have to send them out due to timing anyway.  Double argh.

  • When we got our Christmas pictures back I noticed the lack in quality and actually made the same remark to DH about shutterfly maybe changing vendors or changing something.  Last years really weren't that great either, not horrible just not great.
  • talk to shutterfly.  they will probalby re-print themn for free and overnight them.  they hvae great customer service.

  • i just received my cards from shutterfly and they look great.  well except for the big booger on molly's nose, but that is not their fault.

  • Try mpix.com. I haven't used them myself but they are part of a pro lab and I hear good things about them all the time. Bummer that they didn't turn out well the first time.

  • Sad

My cards from TinyPrints today.  I haven't had a chance to open the box yet.

I would definitely take the others' suggestion and contact Shutterfly about the poor quality.

    Good luck!

  • I ordered the stationary cards this year -- usually we get the cards on photo paper -- and thought that the lack of crispness was due to the difference in paper. I guess it's not just me.

I ordered a batch of photo-paper cards because we were a bit short, and I wonder how they'll compare once they get here.

  • I was disappointed with ours, too. We got them from Vistaprint, but I think the problem was less the vendor than the fact that I chose a card with three spaces for photos (because I couldn't decide which pictures I liked best). That made the photos too small.  Oh, well. I'll know better next year.
