Sooo I am in an Exit Loan Counseling webinar and they showed me how to find a breakdown of all of my federal student loans and overall total.....

Wow. Are there any programs in WA that forgive parts of your loans if you teach for so long?
Yah, *cringe* is for sure!
Actually there are several programs. If I teach in a high-needs school for 5 yrs, I get $5000 towards my principal...and USC matches that for me, so it'd be $10,000.
Also, Obama just signed a program into effect for public service workers where I can have my loans forgiven after 10yrs, under certain terms...
Still. And my H is currently accruing loans for his education too. haha.
It's all good.....just felt like having a min to b*tch....
Well at least there is some hope!
I'm thankful for cheap state schools
this!! we paid for my (and h's) school out of pocket..but i also stopped after bachelors, and h got his masters paid for through his company.
and by "we", i mean our parents. h and i were both fortunate enough to have our parents pay for 100% of school....but regardless, the cost is so minimal compared to private. i can't imagine having student loans like that....
hope everything works out in your favor and you can get it reduced!
