My work here is done.

I have pissed off my rheumatologist to the point that he broke up with me. And I got my period today. All in a day's work for Ms. Pissy-Pants.

The doctor's nurse called me tonight to tell me that "Dr. [X] says you have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia and you should follow up with Dr. [wrong name of my PCP]."

I'm going to go ahead and say I just got the equivalent of an answering machine break-up.  LOL

Piece of poop doctor-- I should charge him the money I spent on the 4 useless meds he prescribed.

At least I have my period to keep me busy for the rest of the week.   Stick out tongue

Re: My work here is done.

  • I'm sorry about the period.  Talk about bad timing with everything else going on this week.  And, yes, you did get the answering machine break-up.  :-P

If only the rheumatologist could have given you the diagnosis and sent you back to your PCP at the beginning, right?  I'm sad to read the diagnosis but I know how many months you've been trying to make headway on getting one; I am glad you finally have something concrete to work with.  I hope that your PCP is able to provide you with the care you need from here.  Frankly, once I had my diagnosis, I gave my rheumatologist 2 more appointments and then high-tailed it back to my PCP.  She was MUCH better about taking the holistic approach I wanted.  I hope the same ends up being true for you.  You know I'm here if you need anything at all!

  • Blech to the Rheum doctor. I haven't met a helpful one yet.

I'm sorry about aunt flo as well- she's a biatch.

  • Ugh, this all sounds really frustrating.  At least now they're not stringing you along.  Do you think your PCP will be able to help you from here, or are you going to have to find another rheumatologist?
