Convertible car seat question

It's about time to bite the bullet and get a convertible car seat for Zoe. I am looking at the Britax brands and are wondering if they will fit in my car. I have a Honda Civic. Does anyone have any experience with the Boulevard or Marathon in a compact car? TIA! :)

Re: Convertible car seat question

  • I have a Marathon and I used to have a Ford Focus.  It definitely fit.  It helps that he was in the middle.  The only bad part was he started off rear-facing and since there were so few air vents in the car and the back of the seat was so high, he would be a sweaty mess when we got to wherever we were going.  I turned him forward-facing a bit earlier than I wanted to because of it.  But he was miserable.  Other than that, I had no complaints.

  • That's how Zoe is already in her infant car seat, so I imagine it will only get worse in the convertible.  Hopefully in the next couple years we will be buying a bigger car (boo hoo) but in the meantime, this will have to do. :( I want to keep her rear facing till she is 2 per the new recommendations.

Good to know that it fits because I plan to get the Marathon, and I have a Corolla.

  • We had a marathon in my H's Jetta, but P was FF at that point.  We had to remove the headrest to get the seat to fit properly.

I am so annoyed at the new RF until 2, the seats take up so much room.  Right now H has 3 (yes, three) carseats across the back of his VW Jetta: a Sunshine Radian FF for Parker, and 2 Combi Cococoros for the twins RF.

  • We have two Boulevards and we love them.  I drive a CR-V and it fits perfectly, so if you're in the market for a bigger car, I would definitely recommend it!  My H drives an Acura TSX which is a similar size as the Civic and it fits fine in there also.
