DS Funny

Will (our 11 year old - not the baby) came out of the shower looking stricken today. I asked him what was wrong and he held up a tooth and told me it fell out in the shower. Apparently he thought he'd already lost all his baby teeth and this was a permanent tooth that fell out. Turns out it had been loose for weeks and he hadn't told us because he thought it was really bad and nothing could be done about it. Poor kid.

I'm sure cash under his pillow tomorrow morning will help him recover. We actually had a good laugh about it already. Will is pretty resilient.

  • awe, poor kid! I didn't lose my last baby tooth until I was 13, and I can remember thinking that I was losing an adult tooth at the time. I'm sure cashing in on the tooth will make him feel better :)

  • Poor Will. I'm glad he lost it though, I still have a baby tooth, it's one of my top incisors and it is so noticeable because it's so small and has some toothbrush erosion and the gums are receding a bit. The only thing they can do is pull it and I'd have to wear braces while the adult one is brought down from above, which I'm not doing for just a cosmetic fix for one tooth. I wish I would have just lost it later on or had my parents or dentist notice back then that I hadn't lost it and tried to correct it when I was still young.

That sucks. I have a good friend who has about 8 baby teeth still and the adult teeth never came in. Some of them fell out and now she had to wear a partial denture.

I also have a couple baby teeth.  You can't tell though, I actually never remember which one they are.  My dentist and I are just hoping that they stay put for many more years because implants are crazy expensive and I do not want to have to have partial dentures.  Blah.
