After getting over my initial fear, I got the kid in it. He cries a little when I stick him in the newborn hold (I think his legs may have been too squished) but once he's all wrapped up, he falls asleep and I get my arms back! If I'm doing this correctly, this Moby will be my favorite thing ever.
However - I'm worried about whether he's slouching. He tends to slip down so his nose is level with my boobs. And although he's sleeping away, I don't want to mess up his spine development by keeping him in an erroneous hold for 2 hours (or more) a day.
I tend to think the ginormous wrap supports his bum and distributes the weight but couldn't find anything online about it. Looking for some experience. TIA.
Re: Moby wrappers - anyone?
I hate wrapping. I always felt overwhelmed. I bought a ring sling for the tiny stage. And now I use an ergo and pikkolo.
I would snap a photo and post it on the AP boards they can tell you if baby is in a safe position.
What's the AP board? I do not venture to the baby boards.
He's upright, just tends to fall/slouch when he sleeps. Breathing is good. Plus I obsessively check that he's breathing.
no idea, but when i googled this game up and i chuckled.
attachment parenting board. they are in the know about baby carriers. they help me select my sling
I thought it was "Asia Pacific" and I think I liked that better.
SD - what did you google? I wonder if someone's cat named Moby was wrapped. EIther way, it was amusing.
I am rolling my eyes hard. Seriously those ladies know a lot about carriers and carrying your baby safely. Just because there are some crazy folks on message boards doesn't mean you need to avoid them as a whole.
It is More important to me to make sure my child is safe. No one is going to dive bomb your post convincing you need to follow attachment parenting.
