Dumb question - contacting a recruiter
I got a recruiter's contact info from a friend, so I'm writing up an email to him. Do I just put something short and simple in the email (location, industry I want, etc), or do I write up a full "cover letter" to send? I'm not applying for a specific job with him right now...just an initial contact to start the conversations. TIA!

Agreed. I've worked with a few recruiters and the interactions with them have always been informal.
Nope, just send a quick and to the point email. Recruiters are busy and don't want to read a long email anyway. Well, most recruiters, like the ones who arent' on TN all day ::whistles and looks around::
