SuperCuteBenz - a car seat question

You got me thinking and I checked my carseat.  It says it was manufactured in 10/2007 (so my mind is getting soft with these 2 kids).  I must have bought it after the first one grew out of his carrier.  Anyway, can I still claim this is safe and consign it, or skip it?  And don't let the fact the you want my awesome cover cloud your answer :)

Re: SuperCuteBenz - a car seat question

  • It is definitely still safe to cosign since it has almost 2 years left. It just depends on whether or not it will be worth it. I sold a Roundabout on craigslist for $40 when it had 2 1/2 years left. Someone obviously paid that, but really you can buy a brand new Scenera with 6 years of life on it for around the same price.

We recently discussed selling 2 of our seats, because we aren't really using 2 of them right now, but I won't get much for them. Its nice to have the extra seats for grandparents, babysitters, etc, and I figure that I would get much because you can buy a brand new Roundabout at Target every now and then for $100. So, I will hold onto them, and just sell the covers later. Wink

When is the sale? In the spring right, so you will still lose some time yet.

  • Jumping in on this if you do decide to sell it, I know not everyone can get those killer deals at target and we get lots of gparents who love to have the top brand car seat  in their car but don't watch the ads for a deal. Price it right and it should sell. On a different note we also have lots of very low income shoppers who love the fact that they are getting name brand xyz item for a fantastic price which they normally (even at 100.00 could not afford). I can't even count how many of these emails we get each sale thanking us for the great items and prices (and it's all of our consignors).
