So now there's a "hairstylist day" on FB
Same lines as the "DJ day" status. My stylist is also my SIL. I love her to death but I am now resisting the urge to get my nest snark on. She is actually worth every penny, I don't begrudge her a dime as I sit here looking absolutely fabulous.
If
you ask yourself why hairstylists "charge so much" for doing your hair
... They don't get paid vacation, they don't get paid sick days, they
don't get bonuses for outstanding performances nor for Christmas. They
don't have insurance plans nor do they qualify for unemployment. They
sacrifice their family on special days so that they can bring happiness
to others. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for a bad
haircut/color. Next time you ask, remember that hairdressers are
hairdressers because of the love of doing hair, but that love does NOT
pay debts. Happy hairstylist's Day!! Re-post if you're a hairstylist or
have good friends that are hairstylists.

Slainte!

Re: So now there's a "hairstylist day" on FB
What is all this "they sacrifice their family on special days" bullshits? How many times have you known a DJ or hair stylist to give up Thanksgiving or Christmas with their families because people are....having weddings? WTF?
You know who gives up time with family on special occasions? Nurses, doctors, police officers, firefighters, production staff for sporting event broadcasts, prison guards.
FFS.
also I'm pretty sure most hair salons are closed on Christmas and other holidays.
Oh good lord. Every job could have a post like this. Heck, my employee just got called a "sl@t" the other day, and my other girl a "b!tch", and I am regularly called every name in the book. Where's my FB post?
Uh-huh.
I just found out that the guy who did my hair for my wedding (for less than $100 I think) now charges 400+. I saw him a few weeks ago, and he had 6 weddings scheduled that weekend. I'm thinking he can take a day off whenever he wants.
Styling hair is not one of those professions.
I trim my own bangs.
I am ordering my Rolex now.
Please. Personally I do not want a society filled with unkempt hippie ragamuffins. Won't someone think of the Biebers?

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DMay I respectfully request my own day on FB:
If you ask yourself why public housing managers "charge so much" for auditing your housing authorities ... They don't get paid maternity leave, they don't get paid sick days, they don't get bonuses for kicking tenants out of mansions nor for Christmas. They sacrifice their family on special days so that they can bring fiscal solvency to others. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for public agency fraud. Next time you ask, remember that public housing managers are public housing managers because of the love of Section 8, but that love does NOT pay student loans. Happy public housing manager's Day!! Re-post if you're a public housing manager or have good friends that are public housing managers.
You're just jealous. Here, let's start a day for you:
If you ask yourself why librarians "charge so much" for putting your books away ... They don't get paid commission checks, they don't get paid sick days, they don't get bonuses for cataloging microfiche nor for Christmas. They sacrifice their family on special days so that they can bring scholarly articles to others. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for disorganized card catalogs. Next time you ask, remember that librarians are librarians because of the love of reading, but that love does NOT pay for student loans. Happy librarian's Day!! Re-post if you're a librarian or have good friends that are librarians.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
But we do have a National Library Workers Day, at least.

<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DIf you ask yourself why moving companies "charge so much" for schlepping your shiit ... They don't get paid maternity leave, they don't get paid sick days, they don't get bonuses for packing up houses filled with crap then listening to your scream on the phone about the pricing nor for Christmas. They sacrifice their family on special days so that they can make customers happy. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for broken dishes. Next time you ask, remember that moving company customer service managers are moving company customer service managers because of the love of moving people out of state, but that love does NOT pay student loans. Happy moving company customer service managers Day!! Re-post if you're a moving company customer service manager or have good friends that are moving company customer service managers.
Are you a madam?
My turn:
If you ask yourself why small law associates "charge so much" for defending your negligent asss ... They don't get paid maternity leave, they don't get paid sick days, they don't get bonuses for billing nearly the same as the people who make three times what they do nor for Christmas. They sacrifice their family on special days so that they can make their bosses rich. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for missed deadlines. Next time you ask, remember that small law associates are slaves to egomaniacal dickwads because of the love of something they long ago gave up on, but that love does NOT pay student loans. Happy Small Law Associate Day!! Re-post if you're a small law associate or have good friends that are small law associates.
I manage customer service at a moving company. We are one of those industries that people love to hate, and continue hating even after they've hired us. I could tell stories for days about my customers that I deal with.
my read shelf:
Geez, I bet you do get some sh*t!
Holy schitt, you don't even know... we have new-ish friends, husband and wife, who are sports TV producers, and their schedules are a royal mess!
Oh, and, just to be a mommy-martyr...
If you ask yourself why stay at home moms DON'T "charge so much" (or, really, anything at all, except for the occasional Starbucks latte) for taking care of kids and house and all the schitt that comes with it ... They don't get paid anything at all, they don't get paid sick days, they don't get bonuses for dealing with schitty diapers or screaming toddlers or any of that other stuff nor for Christmas. They sacrifice their sanity on special days so that they can make family happy. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for pretty much anything. Next time you ask, remember that SAHM's are SAHM's because of the love of their kids, and stuff, but that love does NOT pay for anything. Happy Mother's Day!! (oh, schitt, there already is one of those... goddamit.) Re-post if you're a SAHM or have good friends that are SAHM's.
I am the 99%.
My turn!:
If you ask yourself why phone sex operaters "charge so much" for making you c*m ... They don't get paid maternity leave, they don't get paid sick days, they don't get bonuses for faking orgasms while their live-in boyfriends cringe in the next room nor for Christmas. They sacrifice their family on special days so that they can make you feel a little less lonely. Illness or personal affairs are not excuses for Mistress Stella being unavailable to spank you like the naughty boy you are. Next time you ask, remember that phone sex girls are here to listen to you moan and grunt because of the love of making dirty boys happy, but that love does NOT pay for 2257 compliant solo girl content. Happy Phone Whore Day!! Re-post if you're a phone whore or have good friends that are phone whores.
~ The Nestie formally known as MrsBrittany ~
I love you more than I can possibly say.
I am the 99%.
I love you guys!
HA - Mistress Stella, eh? rawr!
Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
