Thoughts on this baby name

Savannah.

Just type the first things that come to your mind if your friend told you she named her daughter that.

  • Love it! I think of Dear John lol but still cute.
  • I really like it. I'm around "country folk" on a daily basis and none of them have a kid named Savannah. Ha!

The first thing that I think of is an old movie that I loved. Savannah Smiles.

  • Savannah Smiles and Girl Scout cookies...you'd have to be old like me to know those two things..LOL!  :)

Actually, that is exactly where I got the name.  I adored that movie.

I am going to say this even though I should because there could be a possibility that you know these people...

Anyway, I saw on FB that someone is naming their daughter Rowdy. For realz.

I knew a guy in high school whose name was Rowdy.

  • Eh. Not great, but not bad.
  • I feel like it's a part of that city/state name trend from awhile back. Savannah, Sydney, Dakota, Cheyenne, etc. I really like Anna, so I suppose I could live with the Sav if I had to. Smile

  • I like it... probably not enough to use it myself... but if you and your DH like it, that's all that really matters :)

I thought about this same movie! I used to love it too :) So do I belong to the "old" group now? (well I am 32 today!) Hahaha!

Otherwise I think of my niece who is not such a good girl and I think bleh!

  • I was totally going to mention Savannah Smiles too and was afraid people wouldn't be familiar because of it being old! I am convinced almost everyone is younger than I am, but I have deduced that several of you Nesties are my same age. :)

  • I think of Georgia.

But I LOVED Savannah Smiles. It was my favorite movie, even though it always made me cry at the end when she places her little hand on the back window.

I'm pretty "meh" with the name. But it is likely b/c my MIL really wants a granddaughter named Savannah.  Won't be from us!

  • Thanks for the input, gals.  I am putting that name in my top three.
  • I think of Georgia.
Tied the knot: 6.19.04 Mommy to 3 awesome kids: Maren 3/06, Tommy 12/07 amd Kolbe 8/09
  • There's a little girl where I work named Savannah and she is a doll!
