If you didn't have to work...
... would you?
BF and I were talking about this last night. My answer: no! I have waaaay too much other sh!!t I have to get done during the day
Re: If you didn't have to work...
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
No.
If I won the lottery I would never work again. I would travel with my daughter and family. Settle down by a beach somewhere while DD is in school.
I would coach my DD in sports, volunteer at her school and help out charities, but I would not have a job.
yes but I'd pick something fun
I already volunteer about 30 hours a week on top of working 40 so I htink I've got that covered lol
I don't know. I'm not cut out to be a SAHM, so I'd feel guilty still sending DS to daycare (even if it was part-time) if I wasn't working. But on the other hand, I would feel guilty about still working if I didn't have to.
Eh, it's a double edged sword for me.

BF and have talked about me staying home for a while when we have a child together and I like the idea. I told him I didn't think I could because I have ds to support financially and I don't get child support from his dad. He said we could save up my salary (or the bulk of it) while ttc and pg and then I could have that money for things for ds. But that also if I was home with our child and his step-child (my ds) that he feels me taking care of "the little members of our team" is a great contribution and he would be happy to support us all (ds included) financially while I wasn't working.
So in a few years I might be in this position ... and I like it!
If I don't have to work because I suddenly came into a shiitload of money, then I'd open my own Hallmark. I'd only work there part time though lol
We have a number of those here in LA that you could use as a business model
I wish there were more here in the North East.
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
I would. I would die of boredom being home all the time. But I might work less than my usual 50 hrs a week.
Oh and I don't have to work now, but my DH and I have high financial goals and a particular standard of life we like. I'd have to win a whole bunch of money to quit my job.
