Is it recommended to store gooey butter cookies in the fridge?
I've made tons of these and I don't think I ever have before. I just saw Marys comment on FB about hers being in the fridge, so now I think I'm doing it wrong.. lol
They usually disappear within 48 hours if that makes a difference.

Re: Mary or Lindsay
Wha?
ohhhhh. I think I knew that, but you had me all sorts of confused at first!
Hello! I put my dough in the fridge after I do all the ingredients because I find if you bake supercold cookie dough you get better lift and shape.
FWIW, this time, mine are staying in the fridge for 36 hours- I have a local Nestie cookie swap Saturday and my company's holiday party tonight- so I won't have a chance to do the dough and get it cold enough Saturday morning before baking. Hence why I have 3 batches of gooey butter cookies scooped and sugared in my fridge.
Gooey butter cookies themselves are certainly shelf stable and have no need to be refrigerated if you're not storing them for a long period of time.
Stand up for something you believe in.
yep! The super cold dough is just easier to work with, less sticky. They are incredibly shelf stable, no need to refrigerate the baked cookies!
Ok, I put the dough in the fridge for an hour or two before I bake them.
I just don't store them in the fridge after they're baked - that's what I though you meant on FB.
