How do you get the labels off the bottles? We got some off with just hot water and soap, but the Great Divide beer bottles are adhered with super glue or something, lol. Ideas?
Re: Home beer brewers
DH soaks his bottles/labels overnight in Oxyclean powder with hot water.
This is what we did. But eventually bottling in and of itself is such a huge PITA (at least to us) that we switched to kegging.
Yes - it is awful and avoided at all costs. DH needs to get some mobile kegs to take with us to parties. He does enjoy giving friends a couple bottles to taste every now and then but he dreads bottling. It always results in lots of cussing.
This. DH got kegging equipment for his birthday. Prior to that I know there were some brands that just had impossible to remove labels, he just steered clear of those
You can try Goo-B-Gone, but then you have to oxiclean overnight and santize again with the food-grade sanitizer b/c you wouldn't want that solvent anywhere near your beer.
I bottled with a friend years ago and it was a pain-in-the-a$$ - so much easier to keg (that's what DH does now). You can easily take kegged beer with you...just fill a growler or liter beer bottle and gift or take along to a party.
