What was one of your favorite presents as a kid? As an adult?

One of my favorite gifts as a kid was the year my sister and I both got an end-roll of newsprint and a whole box of every art supply that you could think of. I don't know if they still do it, but you used to be able to go down to the newspaper at home and buy the leftover paper rolls by the pound.
My favorite as an adult is probably the Kindle Jim got me last year.

As a kid: Peaches 'n Cream Barbie one Christmas. Her dress was just so pretty and fluffy! I think I also got Crystal Barbie right around the same time, so I was all about the blingy Barbies.
As an adult: Okay, when I wrote this question, I didn't realize how tough it'd be to answer it. I'd say my Garmin 405, though. I'm about the gadgets these days. ETA: Josh gave me the Garmin, he's happy to indulge the gadget love!
As a kid I think my favorite gift was the Barbie dream house. It was all set up and waiting for me and my sister under the Christmas tree. We played with that house a ton!
As an adult I love most of the gifts that Kyle has given to me. He actually puts a lot of thought into gift giving. I guess my favorite would be my laptop. He gave it to me so that I would have a better laptop to finish out the MBA program. This is also while I was quite stressed out with the wedding planning so it was nice to have a faster computer to use.
As a kid my favorite gift by far was my Cabbage Patch Kid. I got once when I was in the 6th grade, and I loved her so much.
As an Adult, my favorite gift would have to have been a few years ago. I had just gotten out of a bad relationship, and was doing part time custody of the dog. My sister had me convinced she got me a puppy, so when she brought the gift in, it was a present wrapped up that was formed to look like an animal. In it was my i-pod. I loved it, and use it everyday at work. Now I think about it maybe I loved the whole package more then the i-pod, ha ha.
As a kid - We got a Nintendo 64, among other video game consoles through the years. I just thought it was awesome. We also snooped for gifts as kids (I might still do that) and knew we got it long before Christmas. It was torture waiting.
As an adult - I agree with Reba. My kindle was an amazing gift. I also loved getting my ipod. Jay is an excellent gift giver and usually remembers things I ask for all year long.
My favorite gift as a kid was a popples doll. I still have that thing. I was probably 5 or 6 when I got it.
My favorite gift as an adult is hard. Russ always buys me such awesome gifts that I can't decide.
As a kid, it had to be my She-Ra. I loved her and her friends. I played with them until the fell apart. I loved them so much.
Grown up: Dh is very very thoughtful at gift giving so it's a hard one. I think I'm going to have to say my car. It was one of the most over the top crazy presents I have ever been given. He did so much research to buy the right car. I have always wanted a Mini Cooper and he got me one. He thought it had to be a convertible (It didn't) but it's awesome. I still can't believe he did it. My old car had broken down 3 weeks in a row while he was researching so he knew it would be even more amazing to me to have a working car.
It's it's birthday next week.
Chica - I had peaches and cream barbie too! Loved her.
As a kid, I think my favourite presents... oh gosh... maybe the nintendo. Like... the original back in '88.
Now, I'd say the best one has been my e-ring.

Assuming we're talking Christmas gifts..
As a kid - the year my parents took us to Florida to see my grandparents for Christmas. I was in 5th grade and it was my first time on a plane. My grandparents live in North Florida, so it never crossed our minds of Disney World until my parents started hauling us into my grandparents suburban one morning! It was the only time I got to go to Disney with my grandparents.
As an adult - I don't know. We're not really big on gifts. Maybe the wine fridge my parents bought me.

Amie, I totally had a Barbie's Dream House, and I loved it!
My favorite gift as a kid, it was this purple Hello Kitty suitcase, which came complete with travel-sized Hello Kitty toiletries. My family used to do 8 gifts, one for each night of Hanukkah, and I remember this gift being the largest one that year.
As an adult, definitely my Kindle! I was resistant to getting one at first, but now, I am so happy I have one.
As a kid I got a beauty parlor play set complete with spinning chair, huge plastic "rollers," and working lights around the mirror. I loved that thing.
My favorite adult gift would have to be the year my hubby got creative and gave me a booklet he had made of "12 months of Christmas" goodies. He had vouchers for exciting and unique dates he planned in advance to last us all through the next year. I was quite impressed. The LeVian diamond butterfly ring he bought for me last year is a close second
